Recalling my darkest day is as simple as typing a few search terms into a web browser. It only took thirty minutes for me to become the center of a media frenzy that caught the attention of an entire country.
So I hid.
Nine months later and I’m getting better. Moved two hours from home, landed my dream job, and met a delicious new guy.
Healing is that simple, right?
Note: New Point is the start of a standalone series with connected characters, but independent story lines.
Zoe Baker has just moved to New Point, looking for anonymity and a fresh start from the hell she endured 9 months before. Zoe has come a long way since the worst day of her life but still has some healing to do to get back to “normal.” She has a new job at the local library and is looking forward to starting a children’s reading camp.
Miles Wilson was born and raised in New Point. He owns the local hot spot, Blue in Green, and enjoys the single life. Or at least he has been until now, when he meets the lovely Zoe.
From the time Miles catches Zoe trying to break into her own house, sparks fly between the two. The chemistry is fantastic and they bring out the fun, playful side in each other. But Miles senses that Zoe is holding something back from him and he just wants to help. Zoe is fearful that once Miles knows, he will think less of her or pity her.
Will Zoe trust Miles with her past and allow herself to fully heal from the past? Or will her fears and silence them apart?
I really enjoyed this book! I liked both main characters and their banter, especially in the beginning was sweet and funny. I also really liked the secondary characters and look forward to reading their story as well. Most of this book is written from Zoe’s POV but there were a few pages of Miles’ POV. This book held my interest throughout! I look forward to reading more from this author!
