Five minutes until the interview begins.
Fresh on the heels of her college graduation, Cameron Heart has landed an interview at a prestigious architecture firm.
Four minutes until the interview.
She knows she’s only there because the owner, Grayson Cole, is her older sister’s friend.
For the last seven years, Grayson has been the most intimidating man Cammie has ever had the pleasure, or displeasure, of being around.
But the job opportunity is too good to pass up. So, Cammie will have to ignore the fact that Grayson is handsome enough to have his own national holiday.
After all, she shouldn’t feel that way about her new boss. And, he will be her new boss.
“I’m not scared of you,” I said with a confident smile.
“Perhaps we should fix that, Ms. Heart. Close the door.”
I paused just outside of the front doors and took a deep breath, trying to get my bearings. I was twenty minutes early for my interview. My outfit was still wrinkle-free. My pad-folio was filled with extra copies of my resume and reference letters, and I’d rehearsed every possible question that Grayson Cole would ask:
Greatest weakness? My inability to settle for anything less than what I deserve. I’m stubborn and persistent.
The honest answer? My inability to overcome my schoolgirl crush on you even though you’re a self-righteous ass.
I would NOT be giving him the honest answer.
This is a funny, yet steamy read!! The 2nd book in the Heart series but can be read as a standalone.
Cammie has had a crush on her older sister’s friend, Grayson, since she was in high school. He’s never given her the time of day, but now that she’s interviewing for a job at his architecture firm, he won’t be able to ignore her anymore. During the interview, Grayson admits to Cammie he’s always been attracted to her but won’t act on it now because he is going to hire her.
Cammie is excited about landing a job so soon after graduation and she has plans to only work long enough to save up the money to move to Paris. But all work and no play makes for a dull Cammie, so she decides to pursue a fling with Grayson and get him out of her system once and for all.
When Cammie convinces Grayson to finally act on his attraction to her, it is HOT!! But is sex all these two have in common? Will Cammie still be able to walk away when it’s time to move to Paris?
There is so much chemistry between Cammie and Grayson and all those years of repressing their feelings leads to some super hot and passionate sex. Cammie and Grayson are both strong characters but also have a vulnerable side that makes it easy to love them. There are secondary characters that I loved and some that I loved to hate as well. This book also had some very funny parts that had me laughing out loud. As always, RS Grey has the ability to capture my interest from the very start of the book and keep it to the end. I love her ability to make the reader feel all kinds of emotions, from laughing to crying and everything in between. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
