daniell review 4 starsDarcy Wilde escaped her small hometown, Falcon, Alabama the minute she was able and hasn’t looked back. But now she has to return to help the ailing grandmother who raised her as her own when her mom was too busy looking for a good time to be a mother. Darcy wants to keep a low profile while in town and plans to leave as soon as possible.

Robbie Dalton, soldier and former foster child, finally feels like he is where he belongs and is ready to put down roots.  He has landed the job as head football coach in a town where football is everything. He knows he has a lot to prove if he wants to stick around but he knows he is capable of turning around the floundering team.

Robbie is also hot and single and has caught the eye of just about every female in town, including Darcy, who isn’t looking for any complications while she’s in town. But due to a rumor that is being spread through the small town that threatens his future, Robbie needs Darcy’s help to stop the gossip.  What starts out as a friend helping another friend soon heats up and has Darcy questioning where her future lies. Will Robbie and Darcy be able to heal each other’s painful pasts to embrace a future together?

Really enjoyable read. Both Darcy and Robbie are fun characters and there was a lot of chemistry between them. There were also some twists to this story that made it all the more interesting.  This book had the perfect mix of family bond, sweet romance and Alabama’s love for football.  I’ll be sure to look for more books by this author.
