SHE’S GOOD AT HER GAME.
Raina Easton never dreamed she’d end up playing ring master to a bunch of baseball cheerleaders. But when the New York Saints offers her a job to coach its new squad–the Fallen Angels–Raina can’t refuse. As the owner of a burlesque club, she can certainly show the girls more than a few good moves. But as for her new boss? That is, as they say, a whole ‘nother story. . .
AND HE’S GOT IT BAD.
Army veteran, biker, and all-around tough guy, Malachi Coulter isn’t your typical sports-team owner. For one thing, he doesn’t think cheerleaders belong on the baseball field. Another: he can’t seem to separate business and pleasure when he meets his somewhat scandalous new employee. Seems the major-league bad boy has met his match in the gorgeous, feisty Raina. All’s fair in love and baseball…could it be that, after all this time, Malachi is playing to win?
This was the first book I’ve read from Melanie Scott, and most definitely won’t be my last! I loved the story line, and fell in love with the characters. Melanie does an amazing job of not just connecting you to the main characters, but she also leaves you feeling like you know all the secondary characters as well!
Reina has to be one of my favorite female characters out there. She’s extremely independent and full of fire. She doesn’t put up with any crap, and gives just as much as she gets. But when someone starts to try to sabotage her burlesque club, she (very reluctantly by the way) let’s her new boss check out her security system to see what could be done to help stop what happening. She’s so attracted to this man, but she knows that anything between them would be wrong. He’s her employer and she doesn’t want to be one of THOSE girls.
Mal is one sexy piece of man. He’s deeply loyal to those he cares for, and will do most anything when they’re in need. He’s definitely attracted to the beautiful new cheerleader coach. He’s totally against the idea of having some woman on the side lines jumping around when fans are trying to enjoy a good ole game of baseball, but he can’t deny he doesn’t like the view of Reina doing the routines. Though he knows he shouldn’t go after her and see where the sexual tension between them will go, he can’t seem to stop himself finding ways to spend time with her.
Though the tension is high (sexual and otherwise), Mal and Reina are able to work together and get things done. The attraction is there, but is it enough to keep these two together once everything has settled down?
As I said before, this will not be the last book I will read from Melanie Scott! I’d recommend this book to any of my friends to check out. How can you not want a little bit of the sexy Mal in your life?
