Andi Morgan is a strong, smart and independent woman, thanks to the help of a famous boxing trainer, Mack, and his protégé, Shane, who have respectively been like a father and brother to her. But that wasn’t always the case. Andi never knew what a “normal” life was like. Having been raised in foster care from the age of six after the death of her parents, Andi became emancipated at 16 after an especially horrible incident forced her into a psychiatric hospital.
Luke Woods, the family black sheep and street-brawler, is determined to be a successful professional boxer despite his family’s protests. He needs Andi’s help to get there. The wedge between him and his family over his past relationship issues and career choices is not easily overcome. Luke must learn to face the past mistakes, fears and demons that constantly plague him.
Fireworks and passions quickly ignite between Andi and Luke in the midst of the chaos that surrounds and threatens them. She never revealed the secrets and lies that have plagued her, but when she publicly inherits her family fortune, the living, breathing past comes back to torment her and threaten all that she holds dear. For the first time in her life, Andi must learn to rely on someone else to love and protect her or risk losing the man she loves.
Sometimes love isn’t enough. Sometimes it’s all you need.
WOW!!! I read the synopsis of Crazy Maybe and was expecting one thing, but I had no idea what I was getting into…love, romance, sex, intrigue, mystery, and thrills! All of these ingredients combined together to form an outstanding romantic thriller!!!
Andi works in a gym helping train aspiring boxers when Luke Woods walks into her life and completely throws it off kilter, but she does the same to him as well. The two have pasts that impede their road to a romantic relationship, but they do become friends and soon so much more. But, will their happiness last when their pasts rears their ugly heads? Will they learn to trust each other? Will they even survive?
I just love when I think I know a character, and it turns out I know nothing about them. This was the case for both Andi and Luke. When I first met Andi, I thought she was a tough, independent beauty, but underneath I had no idea what a gentle soul she had. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a fighter, but she also has such empathy and is such a giving human being. When I first met Luke, I thought he was going to be the typical alpha male…all brawn and no brains!!! Nope, the man has a lot going on in that brain of his. There’s nothing sexier than a sexy, alpha whose intelligence matches his perfect body! As with all of A.D. Justice’s characters, they are very complex, and she does a phenomenal job of peeling back their layers little by little to reveal someone you had no idea was under the beauty and sexiness. The story itself was total unexpected. There were twists and turns I so did not see coming, and characters I really HATED!!!
I was looking for something different to read, and Crazy Maybe was definitely that. I enjoyed every page I read. As I wrote earlier, it’s was an outstanding romantic thriller, but it dealt with some real issues that devastate real people. It was done in a very sensitive way, and I pray that people going through the same trauma have a real life angel like Andi in their corner. She’s truly a warrior and guardian angel. The world needs more Andi’s in it! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!!!
Crazy Maybe has a lot of depth to it. There is, of course, the love story part, but there is also issues about child abuse and rape. I really liked how A.D. Justice showed that even though someone may go through something like Andi did, you don’t have to let it define you. You can decide if you are going to over come what happened and make a better life for yourself.
Andi has had a hard life. Her parents died when she was 6 years old and then she was tossed from foster home to foster home, until she ended up in the hell hole that was her last foster home. She’s had to over come a lot and has had to do it alone since she was 16 years old. She’s able to find some peace helping and protecting youth and helping boxers perfect their forms. She is an extremely giving person and never once thinks about herself. This may be her biggest fault.
Then there is Luke, he is the hot wanna be boxer who she has an instant connection with. They both feel that they are meant to be, but some things from not only from Andi’s past, but Luke’s as well, may end up tearing them apart.
Andi and Luke have many ups and downs throughout the story. They have a lot of obstacles to over come before they are able to find their happily ever after.
Will Luke and Andi be able to survive Andi’s past? Will they be able to finally find peace with each other after everything comes to past?
A.D. Justice does a good job of connecting you to the characters. She keeps you sucked in, wondering what is going to happen next in the story. If your looking for a good love story with a little suspense, this a book for you.
