I am a son.
I am a brother.
I am an artist.
I am a student.
I am her student.
She was my first.
First infatuation, first ‘real’ kiss, first love, first…..
I gave her everything, including my body and would have given her more.
I gave her ‘I love you’ ….she told me her heart was filled by another, there was no room left for me.
We could never be.
What we did was wrong.
It didn’t feel wrong to me.
The deepest hurt is a love that you cannot have. It will last the longest, cut the deepest and feel the strongest.
It is an imperfect love; a disfigured circle that never ends.
You cannot control it; it’s as simple as blinking and just like blinking the more you try to stop it, the more the pain consumes you.

This is the 3rd book in the Love by Numbers series but can be read as a standalone.
WOW! What a story! I thought nothing could top Jake and Emma’s story but this story is absolutely beautiful!
Liam is heartbroken. Although he was only 18 at the time, he fell deeply in love with Cari, his art teacher, giving and was devastated when she broke things off saying she loved another. Even though 4 years have passed, Liam’s heart still belongs to Cari and he has never moved on to another woman. He has spent those years traveling the world, unable to be in the same town as her but now he must return home for his brother’s wedding.
Cari has just been surviving since she broke things off with Liam. She knows they shared a true love but her orphaned little sister, Seren, needed her more and she couldn’t burden someone so young with a child with Severe Autism. The past few years of being a single parent to Seren have weighed heavily on Cari and when she sees Liam in town again, she can’t help but remember how much light and love he brought to her world.
When Liam runs into Cari on the street, Liam decides he must have the answers he was never given and try to figure out if he can finally move on.
“Some people come into our lives and stay for a lifetime, others might only share a small chapters; only you know when it’s time to forgive them and keep them in the past or allow them into your future.”
When Liam gets the answers he has been seeking, he discovers a love even more powerful than he knew before. “Love; just a four letter word that is easy to spell yet impossible to define.”
Will Liam and Cari take hold of their second chance with both hands and embrace a future together? Read this heartwarming story to find out.
As soon as I started this book, I was immediately drawn into Liam and Cari’s world and when I finished, I was teary-eyed to say goodbye. This story is told from both Liam and Cari’s POV which makes it all the more special to see the mutual love and heartbreak they both have endured. Sweet Seren makes this book all the more extraordinary of love stories. I thoroughly enjoyed the roller coaster of emotions I experienced while reading this book. This whole series has wonderful secondary characters and I especially fell in love with Isaac, one of Liam’s older brothers, and hope to read his story in the future. E.S. Carter is such a talented author and is definitely an author to one-click without hesitation!
