can you imagine forever with someone who’s leaving everything behind?
a former army sniper, wants to make an escape from his past and everything he
experienced at war, but most of all, just not feel. Feeling leads to pain and
he’s suffered enough. When he inherits a house on South Carolina’s Kiawah
Island, he packs his bags, lured by the peace and seclusion he thinks it will
bring. But, Callahan never counted on meeting anyone like Trinity . . .
has always been the cute, and funny one, who most guys overlook inpursuit of
her “hot” friends. She became used to being everyone’s pal, until the
day the young man she was attracted to, was drawn to her in return. He became
her first great love, and first crushing heartbreak when she found him in bed
with one of her closest friends.
move forward, and to carry out her commitment to helping those in need, Trinity
enlists in the Peace Corps, but not before returning to Kiawah for one last
memorable summer. She just never imagined it would be so unforgettable.
doesn’t want to get close to anyone-let alone Trinity. He finds her perkiness
insufferable and her attempts to entice a smile distracting. After all, he’s in
Kiawah to leave all feelings behind. But when it comes to Trinity, who feels
everything, it’s hard not to feel something.
expected to fall in love. And no one could have predicted how inseverable
Callahan served in the military, and he comes to Kiawah to escape the bad memories of what he witnessed in the Middle East, and believe me, they were horrible. He wants to keep to himself. He’s not interested in making friends and certainly has no interest in love. However, he hadn’t counted on meeting Trinity. She’s a force to be reckoned with. When she blows into his life, he will never be the same. The two are complete opposites. Where Callahan is dark, she’s light. When he scowls, she laughs. He’s withdrawn, and people are drawn to her. She won’t give up on him. She wants to make him happy, and when he laughs for the first time, I was with Trinity. It was a wonderful sound!!! Trinity has dealt with pain herself…not in the same way as Callahan, but they deal with it very differently. Who knows…maybe the different ways they cope with pain will end up healing each other?
I loved the slow development of their relationship. The reader is very aware of their attraction to one another. Of course, Trinity is obvious, but readers only know about Callahan’s initial attraction through his POV. And, he tries so very hard to deny it to himself. At first, she just grates on his nerves, but he knows there is something different about her. While some may think Trinity may be annoying at first, as I said earlier, I loved her! She’s loyal, she cares, and she doesn’t give up easy…someone I would want in my corner. She’s just what Callahan needs! Someone who won’t give up on him…even though at times, he’s given up on himself.
Inseverable is a sexy, yet sweet romance with just enough drama. There are so many more characters within the book that I loved, so I am looking forward to reading their stories and hopefully catching up with Callahan and Trinity soon! I have to add, the epilogue is really one of the best I’ve ever read. I highly recommend reading this one or any of Cecy Robson’s other series!
