She likes it quick and dirty.
I like orders and rules.
She hates small talk.
I hate to share.
She’s an open book.
I’m a closed dresser drawer.
She rides a Harley.
And that drives me f’ing nuts.
Annalyse and I have both lived in our own personal hells for half a decade.  She’s learned to love the warmth, and I’m still consumed.  But my new neighbor is stoking more than my libido these days.  We agreed on only pleasure.  But she changed the rules.
And now I’m not even sure what they are.
Maybe there’s a reason she found me that night, maybe there’s a reason I can’t stop thinking about her, maybe there’s a reason for the pain.  Maybe not.
We all look for reasons in life.  Reasons for death, love, pain.  Why one thing happens and not another?  It’s human nature.  We’ve been looking for the meaning of life since the beginning of time.  But maybe the reason for all of it — life, love, loss, heartache — is the curvy brunette living next door.

“You should have on a life jacket.”

“When I kayak or when I ride my motorcycle?” I ask.

He tries not to smile, but he does.  “Pissed, huh?”

“Observant, aren’t you?”

“Motorcyclists are twenty-five percent more likely to die and five times more likely to be injured than a passenger in a car,” he says.

“You looked that up just to lecture me, didn’t you?”

“Not the point,” he says.  “No more motorcycle.”

Did he really think he could go all alpha male on me?  Usually, it would be hot as all-get-out to see a man in control, dominant, but right now alpha equals asshole!   Note to self — I should do a blog post on that.  Where have all the good alphas gone?  “Who do you think you are?” I say, walking away.  “You’re not my husband or my father.  Come to think of it, I wouldn’t let my father or husband order me around like this.”

His fingers lightly touch my elbow.  It isn’t a grab.  I barely feel it, and as quickly as he touched me, it’s over.  “I’m a doctor.  I’ve seen what . . .”

“You’re a gynecologist!  You’ve seen what a motorcycle can do to a vagina?”

Oh God, I’m in trouble.  He’s got the dirtiest look in his eye.  “I’d imagine the vibration would feel pretty damn good.”

I can’t help it and bust out laughing.  “You are impossible.”

“And it’s the law to carry a life vest for every person in a kayak,” he says.
I roll my eyes.  “You like rules.”

“I like order.”

“Ordering people around,” I say.

“Only certain people,” he says.

Don’t ask me why, but the thought of him “ordering” me around made my legs clench together, or maybe it was the mention of vibrations.  Either way, the idea of him taking control of my body didn’t sound bad to me at all.  It would be nice to not think so damn much all the time and just feel something good for a change.

Annalyse has suffered the loss of her husband but after years of running from the pain and heartache, she is ready to open herself up to the possibility of finding love again. When she meets her sister’s neighbor, Holt, she recognizes that like her, he has suffered a loss as well. She also sees that he is still not able to face his pain and keeps himself closed off.

Through a series of incidents, Annalyse and Holt keep running into each other and the chemistry is off the charts! They agree to be friends with benefits with only one rule “pleasure only” no drama, no dating and certainly no hearts involved. But sometimes rules get broken and feelings grow.

Can Annalyse and Holt heal each other and “choose happy” together? Read this story and find out!!

I LOVED this book! Both characters are fantastic and I loved getting both of their POVs. I was sucked into this story from the very beginning and was truly sorry to see it end. I experienced so many emotions reading this story, sometimes laughing and other times, crying and I loved every minute of it. Prescott Lane is such a talented author and I love everything I have read by her!! I highly recommend this book to everyone!

When I found out, Pasha was getting his own book, I was sooo excited. I wasn’t disappointed at all. From the very first page I was hooked! I loved the setting. It wasn’t a hockey rink but a single’s cruise. Pasha has agreed to accompany his friend who has recently divorced. Kristen is on the cruise as a gift from her parents. They want her to settle down and find a good Greek husband, but Kristen wants more than that. She loves her parents, but she wants to live her life to the fullest. When she runs into Pasha, I do mean she literally runs into him, both of their lives will change. As they spend more time together, what starts off as lust may turn into the real thing except for one little thing….both aren’t being honest with each other. They aren’t who they have depicted themselves to be. Once the truth comes to light and their time is up on the cruise, can they really let one another go or is this the real thing?

Pasha was one of those characters I took an instant dislike to at the beginning of the series, but in Henry’s capable hands, as the series went on, I began to understand him and slowly not only liked him but loved him. I knew he had secrets, and Henry did a great job of unraveling those, and I somewhat understood what made him the person he was. Kristen is a very different character. She deals with a condition that might cause others to live their lives cautiously but not her! She is determined to live her life to the fullest, but yet the only thing allowing her to truly do that is loving someone. But, it will have to be someone she can trust completely, and she hasn’t found that someone yet. Who knew Pasha might be that guy!!!! He totally surprised me! I just loved their story!!!!

I was fortunate enough to discover Sophia Henry about a year ago, and I knew from her very first book she would be one of my favorite authors. I was right. I count down the days until she has something new out. She knows how to strike the perfect balance between sexy and sweet, and has a special way of endearing her characters to me, even ones like Pasha, whom I didn’t like in the beginning of the series. He’s now one of my favorite characters! So…I guess I will now have to wait impatiently for the next book!
