“Fun and flirty, sassy and steamy, with a deep
emotional pull that will keep you turning the pages.”—Kelly Jamieson, author

“An unsung hero with a story that touched my heart. Emotional and
gripping. A top favorite of 2016 for me.”—New York Times bestselling author Melanie Moreland
I’ll begin by saying this may be the book I have been anticipating most this year! Layne finally gave us Lincoln’s story, and the wait was very much worth it! I ADORED it! I’ve loved Lincoln from the very beginning, and I knew it would take a special woman to break his playboy image and find her way into his heart, and I loved that it was Emma’s sister, Daisy! Each knows that the other is off-limits for a variety of reasons, but they feel an undeniable attraction to each other. The question is will they finally heal or destroy each other?
Lincoln is one of those characters that you love even though he’s a player. I couldn’t help but love him. He has charisma and a wicked sense of humor, and let’s be honest he’s easy on the eyes too. Through each novel, Layne would give hints that he is also a man with a broken heart and a past he hasn’t healed from. Daisy is recovering from a heartbreaking divorce, so romance isn’t on her mind. The connection these two share from their very first meeting jumps off the pages. Each recognizes the hurt in the other, and see the masks they force themselves to wear trying to show the world they are just fine when they aren’t. I loved watching the walls they have erected around their hearts slowly fall away! Their love story is my favorite in the series!
As always, Layne never disappoints in anything she writes. She has an incredible talent of not only writing a superb story but developing each and every one of her characters. She develops each character in a way that they become old friends to the reader, and she is a genius at building her secondary characters so you are anticipating them getting their own book. She did exactly that with Lincoln. If you haven’t discovered this amazing writer, you really need to!
