OMG!!! I just LOVED, LOVED this book! The is the first time I’ve read anything by either writer, and I just want to kick myself for not discovering them sooner! There are books that I can see easily as a movie, and I can definitely see this one as a fantastic romantic comedy! I couldn’t help but fall in love with both the storyline and the characters, even the secondary characters!

Dani has just broken up with her sleaze-ball, cheating ex-boyfriend, and she is drowning her sorrow and anger in a bar with her best friend, Andie. You might think she is going to meet the man she is destined to be with in the bar. Will he be the player in the bar or the cute bartender…NOPE, not even close. He will be the guy she accidentally drunk texts, sending him angry and insulting comments, thinking he’s her ex. This is the beginning of Dani and Ram’s journey to their HEA. But, you know it’s not always that easy, but it’s an entertaining, sweet, and sexy ride with the two of them.

The first portion of the book is the two of them texting one another. Yes, she does realize that he isn’t her ex not long after sending the embarrassing texts, and soon the texts become more flirtatious and downright erotic and sexy. These texts are, for me, what makes the storyline move. I was waiting on pins and needles for these two to meet in person! Along with the texting, each chapter reveals more about who Dani and Ram really are told through their dual POVs. The two are very complex and realistic characters. Dani is so sweet and caring, sometimes too caring and sweet. Her bestie continues to tell her this. I loved seeing Dani finally take up for herself. And, Ram, ah Ram…total hottie, and he’s intelligent with a killer sense of humor. He, himself, is going through a hard time, but Dani helps him come out of it. I loved how the two truly helped one another without really realizing it.  On another note, I loved the references to one of my all-time favorite movies, The Princess Bride! I loved his nickname for Dani, Buttercup! SWOON!!!!

The book first caught my attention with the synopsis, but I had no idea how great it would be. There are some surprises and secrets that are revealed within the pages. I loved how the writers added the POVs of both Roman, Ram’s brother, and Andie, as the book neared the end. Their chapters really set it up quite nicely for the next book which will be Andie and Roman’s book. The best part….the ending….WOW!!!! I can’t wait for the next book! I loved Dani and Ram’s story, but Andi and Roman’s look like it’s going to be EPIC!!!!

Carrie.

He hustled her direction, and it wasn’t until he got closer that he saw the massive pink suitcase she was fighting with was broken, and the fuzz in question was coming from her—as in the bottom piece of her dress, and she was next in line to drop off her bag.

“Jesus Christ,” he said, walking up to her. She looked up from the fight with her bag, blew a lock of hair out of her face, and scowled.

“What the hell are you doing here?” she asked. There was that sass. He’d take attitude over her tears any day.

“I could ask you the same thing,” he said.

She pointed at her suitcase. “Well, you’re the genius with the idea to go on my honeymoon alone, and since my arms get tired when I flap them longer than ten minutes, I have to take an airplane to Hawaii.”

He raised a brow, his blood igniting in that way that only Carrie could make it. That snarky tone made him want to spar with her. But he knew her well enough to know she was still hiding pain beneath the brazen attitude.

“I’m glad to see you found your sassy pants,” he said. “Maybe they’ll keep you warm under that dress.”

She rolled her eyes and Blake continued.

“I’m glad you’re going and I’m glad you’re having your adventure. But I was serious about needing a—”

“Spotter?” she cut in, using his term from earlier.

“Yes. Carrie, you going alone isn’t an option.”

“Well I’m a grown up and I’m not taking my brother. That’s weird and, oh right, I’m. A. Grown up!” she said slowly, like he was an idiot.

“Lane can’t make it,” he said frankly and watched her eyes go wide, the truth hitting her.

“Lane sent you,” she said with venom in her voice. “How did he even know I was here?”

“He didn’t, I did,” Blake corrected quickly. “After our talk and realizing you wouldn’t wait, I tracked you down here.”

“Oh right, the infamous tracker,” she said, and Blake wished she sounded more impressed. Not sure why that mattered. Maybe he could contemplate that if he wasn’t too busy staring down plump, tan skin, currently heaving out of the top of her dress.

My god she looked incredible.

But Carrie was clearly in a mood, and he couldn’t blame her. Last thing he should be doing is checking her out. Which he wasn’t. Because not only was she just left at the altar, but she was his best friends little sister. No way in hell was he thinking of her in any other way other than a lady to be protected.

Truth be told, he thought she’d be a crying mess of sad clown makeup but instead, she was huffing from the suitcase, making the tight, low cut of her dress dip even more, giving him yet another prime view of the most perfect cleavage he’d ever seen.

Kevin was an idiot to not show up for a woman like her.

Stop thinking that way, she’s your buddy’s sister.

“Well you found me,” she said exasperated. “So you can report back that I’m fine. Bye.”

“Sorry, little girl, can’t do that.”

So slowly, she reached out, shaking fingers gentle as she traced them along the scar that marked that night beneath my eye.

A tremble took me whole.

I gripped her by the wrist and pressed the underside to my nose. “You’re killing me, darlin’.”

“And you’re saving me.”

A hard frown hit me. “It was you who did all the saving.”

Sitting back a fraction, she shook her head. “If it weren’t for you, I’d be home tonight, hiding in the dark.” Her tongue darted out to sweep across her lips. “I never would have been brave enough to go there or to stand up to him. To say those things.”

“But that’s where I think you’re wrong, darlin’.” This time it was my turn to reach out and touch her. I cupped the side of her face, glancing between her and the road. “I think you’re so much braver than you’ve been giving yourself credit for. I see it there. Feel it every time I look at you. You’re incredible, Willow. Every time you walk through my door, I know it. So good that I know I shouldn’t be doing whatever the fuck it is I think I’m doin’ with you.”

She was still panting those breathy pants, and she leaned into my touch.

“I…” she attempted before she looked down, averted her gaze. Even with her head downturned, there was no missing the blush creeping to her cheeks. She hesitated before she spoke. “When you kiss me…it doesn’t feel like pretending. It feels like the best thing I’ve ever felt.”

I swallowed hard, crossing a line. Pushing into the boundaries that should have been firmly set in place. “That’s because when I kiss you? It’s not pretend. When I tell you you’re gorgeous—the best thing I’ve ever seen? I mean it. And when I look at you…”

I touched the center of my chest, feeling ripped open wide. Exposed. Maybe telling her the truth when it wouldn’t do either of us any good was wrong. But there was no hiding when this girl was looking at me that way. “I feel it right here. We might be pretending, but you can’t fake this.”

Like she didn’t trust herself, she pressed farther against the door. “You make me want things…things I know I shouldn’t want.”

“And what is it you want, Peaches?” I prodded low, knowing full well I was pointing us in the direction of no return. “Told you when I came into your store that I’d give you anything.”

“I want…” She tucked her bottom lip between her teeth, nervous or unsure whether to give me the truth.

Blood pounded mercilessly through my veins. Thickened with lust. All of it clouded my judgment, knocking loose my center of gravity.

Because I knew the look on her face. Desire was written across her like a musical score.

The way her body rocked and trembled and silently pled.

Oh my gosh, I LOVED, LOVED this book! It’s hilarious, sexy, and romantic….all 3 are my favorite things in a book! Once I started I was sucked into Ry and Maggie’s story. Maggie has a new roommate, Ry, after kicking her fiancé out when she came home early and found him with another woman. Ry is pretty much every woman’s dream, so Maggie is a little unsure of having him move in. Thank goodness she doesn’t have to worry about that since he is gay, or so she thinks. Ry has a plan…make Maggie his, but first, he has to become her friend first. That plan will work, right? Not when she decides she is ready to date again, even while secretly harboring lustful thoughts of Ry and REALLY wishing he wasn’t gay. Of course, Ry has a solution…clam jam her, the female equivalent of a c##k bl##k. This, my fellow readers, is where the fun begins!!!!

Ry and Maggie are both hysterical! The chapters are written from each other’s POVs. There were times I laughed so hard that I had tears in my eyes, especially the lengths Ry will go to keeping Maggie’s potential suitors away from her. His whole pretense of being gay is crazy, and the further he goes, the crazier it gets. And, the best part is that his best friend, Jack, goes along with it. He just adds to the comedy. I loved the times Maggie and Ry spent at home watching 80’s movies. The way their relationship slowly grows gave me butterflies. It was obvious that the two shared a bond and came to truly care and then love one another. The relationship developed very naturally and realistically.

Maggie was someone I would want as my BFF. She is beautiful, but the attribute Boldt highlights the most is her heart and her sense of humor. I adored Ry, but I can’t imagine anyone not falling under his spell. He was a guy who knew what he wanted and went after it, even though his planning wasn’t always well thought out. Like Maggie, he’s gorgeous, yet it’s his heart and sense of humor that really made me fall for him. I love a great cast of characters that make me feel connected to them, and both of them did just that. I couldn’t help but want the two of them to get their HEA.

I’ve never read anything by RC Boldt, but she is now a go to writer for me. I HIGHLY recommend reading Clam Jam! The storyline is refreshing, and the characters will melt your heart, and the romance will just make you swoon. It’s definitely one of my favorite reads!!!!

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite genres of romances to read, and I loved this one. It was the perfect combination of sweet and sexy! Lincoln and Joya have been friends for a long time, but after Joya’s brother’s wedding, things might be changing. Then, add in the two weeks the two spend together, and the lines of friendship and lovers get a bit blurred. Brux gave readers a great storyline with great characters who have awesome chemistry! If you are looking for a romance with quirky, funny characters, not counting a cute rescue dog and a loveable iguana (yes, a loveable iguana), then I highly recommend reading this one as well as the others in the series.

In Your Arms was a great follow up to Under Your Skin! The story grabbed me from the very first page. Emm hasn’t had the best day, and to top it off, she’s stranded on the side of road. She isn’t looking for love. The only thing on her mind is seriously hurting her brother when she realizes he didn’t fix her car after she paid him to. Her world is thrown a bit on its axis when a rugged, sexy knight in shining armor on a motorcycle comes to her rescue. Sean is everything she is trying to run from…he screams “bad boy.” She’s done that before, and she knows she should run screaming in the opposite direction. However, she finds herself agreeing to drinks after he takes her to the garage where he works to get her car repaired. Drinks turn into something more, and Emma and Sean will have to determine if their fling can turn into something more.

I really liked both characters because they were written in a very realistic way. Both Emma and Sean were flawed individuals. Sean was irresponsible and enjoyed his life to the fullest. In ways, especially concerning his temper and fighting, he was still immature. He hadn’t met a woman yet that made him want to change his ways. Emma makes him stop and think about what he wants to do with the rest of his life. Emma is trying to escape the mistakes of her past and want to forge a different path than her mother did with a string of losers and bad boys. On the surface, Sean causes all those alarm bells to go off. As she spends more time with him, she realizes he’s not just the irresponsible bad boy she thought he was, and he allows her to be herself.  They really do bring balance to each other’s lives.

What I love most about this novel is while there is a HEA, it isn’t a “perfect” ending, but it’s a realistic HEA. Each character still has flaws, but as people in real life, it is a work in progress and compromise. Isn’t that what all relationships are in real life? That is exactly what makes this book stand out in the genre. Another great book by Shannyn Schroeder, and the icing on the cake is her excerpt from the next book in the series which is about Sean’s brother, Tommy.
