The performance artist and con artist come together for the ultimate marriage of convenience.

Performance Artist, Argyle Brink, lives his life as one big art exhibit. No matter if he is hatching from a gilded egg to show his emergence as a new persona, or donning a suit of mirrors to reflect reality back to his audience, he never misses an opportunity to take a chance and stand by his convictions. Only one thing has eluded him…fame.

In order to save her family’s estate, Malone Summersfield must never return to England. After conning an art critic into taking her across the pond as his fiancée, she thinks her life will be smooth sailing. However, when the man’s wife enters the picture, she realizes the con is all on her, and she needs to get married now. When the strange, yet handsome, performance artist offers to marry her for the price of co-starring in his reality show, she figures she’ll give it a go and become a living art piece.

The show takes on a life of its own, gaining ratings from the sparks between the two stars. Airing everything from their dirty laundry, to public sex in an abandoned zoo, and even living off the grid in a micro house, nothing is off limits. However, when the INS decides to investigate their marriage further, and Argyle uses their predicament to broaden his art, Malone wonders if she will ever come first in his life.

With their marriage, their show, and her citizenship at stake, the two must decide if the ultimate truth lies in the art or in their love.

Synopsis:

I like to think of myself as a man of pleasure…I enjoy a good pint of ale, being in the arms of a beautiful woman, and living by my own rules. The only thing I try to avoid? Commitment. And I’ve got a three-year success rate to prove it.

I wasn’t planning on Grace—the beautiful, funny, totally off-limits massage therapist who keeps popping up in my life. She’s on a six-month mission to rid her life of toxins. No alcohol. No red meat. And, yeah, no men. I’m talking full-on man cleanse.

I know I should walk away, but I can’t…and the only way to keep her in my life is to live by her rules. I’ll need to prove to a woman who’s lost all trust in men that I’m worthy of her love. And do it all without so much as a single kiss.

The only problem? If I win, I’ll lose the one thing I swore I’d never give up. My heart.

I love when a prologue grabs you from the very beginning and pulls you in, and Worth the Wait definitely did that for me. When I read the first few paragraphs, I really couldn’t wait to see exactly what happened!

The storyline was cute and a bit different from other books in the contemporary romance genre. Jeremy and Grace were both characters I could easily relate to. Each has trust issues, but as I learned more about them, I could understand why, especially considering Grace’s past. I love a book in which fate and destiny play a big part, and in my opinion, fate is truly what brought these two together. If Jeremy hadn’t been in a hotel and had such a rough day, he never would have found himself on Grace’s massage table. Even though she’s on a “man cleanse,” Jeremy will definitely tempt her. While the book is a romance, it’s also about two people who have to learn what it means to trust again, and may just discover that each one of them is “worth the wait.” Yes, I love when a title is what the book is really all about.

I have been a fan of A.J. Pine’s for several years now. She always manages to keep her storylines and characters fresh and different, even when it’s in a series. She also blends her new characters with older characters with ease. She also manages to have the perfect combination of sweet and hot! She perfected that in this book! I highly recommend reading her books if you like characters with depth and your romance with a little heat! Can’t wait to see what she has next for her fans!!!

It’s why I sell books, why I blog about them, and why I’ll never get disappointed by love.So what if my brother’s best friend from high school is now a bestselling author? Or that he just blew back into town on a Harley, filling out a pair of jeans like he never did before? Or that he’s agreed to do a signing at my bookstore on such short notice? Because despite all his adoring female fans, I kind of hated his book.

What a great debut novel by these two writers! It’s the story about three young women from very different backgrounds who become fast friends their freshman year of college. While there is some romance, the emphasis is on their friendship!

Each girl is very different from the other. Gia actually lives in Boston, but she lives in the dorm. She is sassy and independent. She comes from a very close-knit Italian family. I love their family dinners!!!! Lexi is from the South, and she is the daughter of a politician. Poor Lexi has been told how she must conduct herself and live her life, and most importantly, don’t do anything to embarrass her family. Her family is wealthy, but she is a prime example that power and money don’t buy happiness. Shelby is the sweetheart of the group. She’s moved across the country from the West. Her family owns a horse ranch, and Shelby is a country girl at heart! What’s amazing is how different these girls are, but they each bring something wonderful to their friendship. They quickly come to love and trust one another, and the bond they form is incredible. I loved each one of them for very different reasons!

As I always say in my reviews, characters are so important to me. If I feel a connection with them, I feel connected to the story. I definitely felt connected to these young women. I felt like I was a part of their tight-knit group. As in real life, each one has their struggles, especially Lexi. She really faces some challenges in the book. Through her, a very serious issue is addressed, and it’s done very realistically. Despite some of those struggles, there is a lot of laughter, especially around the Moretti dinner table. The ending was a big surprise, so I’m really hoping the ladies don’t make us wait too long for the next book. It was hard saying good-bye to Gia, Lexi, and Shelby, but I’m really looking forward to seeing them again! Welcome to Beantown was a great story of the importance of friendship!

“We should swim,” I blurted. “Liven this party up a bit.” I pulled the hem of my shirt from my pants.
“You can’t be serious. We don’t have on suits.” Persephone delicately sipped the hard alcohol in her glass.
“Oh, come on. We don’t need suits.” I pulled my dress shirt over my head and kicked off my flip flops. In the heat, I drew the line at dress shoes. My head cocked for Veva to follow my lead.
“Follow me,” I urged. Veva’s adamant shaking head fueled my desire to swim.
“You wouldn’t,” Veva gasped, as I reached for her. It was all the temptation I needed. I bent and swooped her up at the waist, hoisting her over my shoulder.
“Solis!” she screamed, beating my back. The loose, sheer material felt less than paper thin and swished over Veva’s skin at the back of her knees.
“Gotta live a little, Veva. That’s what your name means.”
“Put me down!” Her hand smacked my ass, and I sprang to life with the delicate sting.
“Do you have on underwear?” I groaned, slowing my pace as I neared the pool’s edge.
“I don’t see how that’s any of your business,” she yelled with another swat at my lower back. “Put me down.”
“What kind of bra do you wear with a dress like this?” I asked, ignoring her plea. As I neared the edge of the pool, I slid her down my body, but not far enough for her feet to reach the ground. Her toes kicked at my shins, but I refused to release her. Her body trapped against mine only reinforced my growing excitement. She squirmed and screamed, but I wanted an answer to my questions. From the feel of those firm globes pressed against my chest, I’d say no bra constricted those precious breasts. My hands slipped under her thighs and she willingly wrapped her legs around my hips in an effort to prevent me from releasing her into the pool.
“I’m waiting for an answer,” I teased, hitching her body higher against mine. The thin material was so silky under my hands, if I inched them upward, I’d discover the answer for myself.
“I’m warning you. Put. Me. Down.”
“Or what?” I threatened playfully. I twisted at the waist, swinging her away from the pool before twisting quickly, motioning as if I’d toss her into the tempting bath water.
“Okay,” she screamed. I inched closer to the edge, feeling for the tile with my toes. I balanced on the precipice, knowing Veva did as well. I shifted her away from the water, still holding her under her thighs while her legs clamped around my waist.
“So?”
“You’ll never find out if I wear underwear or not.” Her threat only encouraged me. I spun, swinging her over the pool’s edge. Only something happened—her weight shifted, and the momentum of the false toss tugged her outward from me. Instinct to protect her kicked in, and I grabbed onto her. We moved in slow motion, her eyes opening wide, as did mine. She fell backward as she held fast to my neck, and I was going down with her. I turned my body, angling to hit the water first, but it didn’t matter. Within seconds, we submerged in the tepid pool. I held onto her and watched as her dress billowed outward in the warm liquid. It rose as we sank and I caught a peek of what I questioned.
It was only Veva and I underwater for that moment. Nothing else existed. Nothing else mattered with my arms wrapped around her waist, drawing her close to me. We pushed upward collectively and sprang from the water. I whipped back my hair, noticing Veva’s fell in limp strands over her face. Her make-up trickled down her cheeks. That strange sense of only the two of us in the world surrounded me. There was no sound but our breaths gasping for air. Reaching out to wipe away the unnecessary paint on her face, she swatted at my hand. The moment abruptly burst.
“Don’t touch me.”
“I’m so sorry, Veva. That wasn’t meant to happen.”
“Of course not. Dangling me over a pool, threatening to throw me in because you want to know if I wear underwear, would never lead to me going in the water.” Her sarcasm flowed deeper than the liquid around us. Ignoring her battling hands, I brushed back her hair, wiping down her face to remove the streaks of make-up. I stepped closer to her.
“You ruined my dress.” Her hands futilely attempted to pull out the formerly billowing material. In doing so, one strap fell off her shoulder and dropped precariously low, threatening to expose her. I stepped even closer, but Veva stepped back. My eyes drew to her chest. Round, ripe globes outlined in sheer wet fabric highlighted the peachy center.
“Veva, I…”
“Forget it,” she huffed, smacking the water as she released her dress. “I’m freezing.” She stepped toward the edge of the pool, but I blocked her way. Freezing or not, the wet material enhanced her assets and I didn’t need the whole party to see what I desired.
“Just stay put a second.” I muttered, my eyes diverting from her chest, but the force too strong, they roamed back.
“Oh, now as if dumping me in here isn’t enough, you want to keep me in the pool. What’s next? Drowning?”
“Veva, no, it’s not like that…it’s…Heph?” I called out. His attention hadn’t left the spectacle I’d made, and I motioned for my dress shirt. Not taking my meaning, Persephone brought the shirt to the edge of the pool. Before she reached me, Zeke appeared.
“Veva, honey, are you all right?” The concern for our guest weighted heavy in his tone, and on my heart. He’d mysteriously reneged his threat to send me to nowhere Nebraska, but this stunt might spark a new deal.
“I’m fine; I just want to get out of here.” She stepped again for the edge of the pool, but I blocked her, turning my back to her to face my father.
“If you wouldn’t mind?” I reached upward for my shirt from Persephone, and Zeke stepped back. I turned to face Veva, but Zeke still had the final word.
“Meet me in my study. You have some explaining to do, son.” The endearment demeaned more than comforted. I placed a hand on Veva’s upper arm to guide her toward the grand staircase. She shrugged her shoulder, yanking her arm out of my grasp.
“I’m so sorry, Veva. But you’re more than cold at the moment, and I need you to put on my shirt.” This direction stopped her, and she looked down at herself before glaring up at me. I held out my button down.
“Why? Why cover it all up?” She waved a hand up and down her soaked dress. “First, it’s ruined, and second, isn’t this what you wanted? To embarrass me? Show the party what I had under the dress, which you clearly know now is very little?” She huffed, and my heart sank. Exposing her to the party had not been my intention. I wanted her all to me.
“I’ll replace the dress,” I offered, but the words were wrong. She swiped the shirt from my hands and threw it in the water, releasing it to float away from us.
“Forget the dress. I just want to get out of here.” She twisted away from me, dragging the water laden fabric of her dress behind her as she walked through the pool. When she reached the edge of the first stair, she stepped upward, took a deep breath and continued forward. Her uptight shoulders and straight back told me—she’d had enough of me. The dress clung to her as she exited the water. There wasn’t a curve to be discovered or a crevice to be hidden. She continued forward, holding ramrod stiff as she regally left the pool. Persephone met her at the water’s edge, arguing she should have taken my shirt, but Veva held up a hand at her friend. Shaking her head, she dismissed Persephone and walked toward the house, letting everyone get a glimpse of what I’d never experience.

Andi is running from her psychotic ex that has done nothing but treat her as his possession and personal punching bag. She has finally gained the strength to leave and start a new life away from her ex, even though it means leaving her best friends behind.

Clay is running from a scandal that has ruined his life. He went from one of the greatest in his field to being the most hated. He is unsure what his future holds but at this point, running is his only option.
When these two meet by chance, they don’t realize at the time that they are going to become each other’s “life jacket” to keep them from drowning in the midst of the chaos that is their lives. But when they must swim on their own to face their past, will they be able to find the strength to confront it head on or will they drown?
I loved this book!! I have read and loved everything by Gia Riley but am new to Marni Mann. I really fell in love with the main characters and loved their relationship. I loved how each was going through a very rough time but together they made each other stronger and could conquer anything! This book is a fantastic read that has all of the best qualities to make it a best seller – action, angst, suspense, love and steamy scenes! If this duo writes together again, I will definitely be reading it!

Rock the Dream Teaser

Chapter 1

Kennedy

“Don’t you want more?” My voice sounds disembodied, dry, and raspy, like I’m a seventy-five-year-old chain smoker who doesn’t give a shit about what a lifetime of nicotine has done to his lungs.

A booming bass fills the penthouse suite at the San Francisco Fairmont, where my band, Redfall, and a host of strangers party into the night. “Mmm… You’re so fucking hot.” It’s a slurred and intoxicated whisper against my neck from some nameless groupie sitting on my lap. Gin and desperation roll off her in waves. She licks the curved chaos of ink snaking down my shoulder and grinds her skinny, naked body against mine. I shudder at the feel of skin and bones against me. She pushes her tits forward, and breathes in my ear. “Touch me, Kenny.”

“I always want more. So do you.” The voice of my tour manager, Brodie Dixon, drifts to me from somewhere far away. I lean back against the couch, trying to open my eyes in an attempt to find him. I feel like I’m floating in a dream or a nightmare; it’s hard to tell which. I’m stuck somewhere between reality and a fucked up fantasy.

“Name’s Kennedy,” I mumble.

“Kenny, Kenny, Kenny,” she chants as she rolls her hips against mine.

I turn my neck in the direction I think Brodie’s voice came from, making a feeble attempt to brush away the hand flattening against my stomach, and drifting south. I can feel her jagged nails scratching over my hip, fumbling, as she attempts to unhook my leather belt.

Her hot, liquor-laced breath fans over my exposed chest, and her fingers lazily drift along the tatt that covers my neck. She doesn’t give a shit about me. She’s just here because I’m Kennedy-Fucking-Lane and she wants to say she fucked me.

Somehow, I manage to open my eyes. Through an intoxicated haze, I can make out Brodie—at least I think it’s him—bent over a table, slowly moving his face along a mirrored surface. I lift the dead weight of the bottle of Jack to my lips, welcoming the burn as the whiskey hits my throat.

Muted light filters in from the gaps in the curtains, catching the glare from the mirror and splaying prisms of color over Brodie’s body. He leans back in the chair and lifts his hand to his nose, snorting back any excess coke he may have missed. He cracks his neck like he always does when he’s finished, and pats his thigh.

It feels like I’m watching in slow motion as a groupie appears like an apparition out of nowhere and floats to his lap, immediately wrapping her arms around his neck and crashing her lips to his.

I shut my eyes, guiding the heavy bottle back to my lips, hoping the magic liquid will block everything out. It hurts to swallow. My throat feels like it’s on fire. I wonder how much is enough to numb the pain.
