5-star-a

If you are looking for a sexy, thrilling, romantic suspense novel, look no further than this one by Elle Kennedy. Readers actually get two couples in this book, Cate and Ash, and Liam and Sully. Once the book begins, it starts out quickly, and the action doesn’t stop until close to the end of the book.

Cate is the daughter of Jim Morgan, the leader of an elite group of mercenaries. Once he discovered he had a daughter, he did everything possible to protect her. Instead, he pushed her away, and the two haven’t really seen eye to eye in several years. She’s now a freelance photographer who finds herself in danger after she takes a picture of a dangerous drug lord. He’s determined to end her life. She’s desperate and calls her father. Of course, he comes with his team to rescue her, but he gets shot, and is critically wounded. Now, his team is out for blood. Cate wants a part in this. If she does this, it will put her back together with the man, Ash, who broke her heart years ago. As the team reunites, so do Liam and Sully who parted ways with many things left up in the air between them. As you might have guessed, this is one roller coaster of a ride.

Not many writers could write about two couples in addition to the overall story of the group trying to bring the end to an evil man’s reign. However, Elle Kennedy not only succeeds, but she does it flawlessly. To make it even better, her writing is outstanding. Yes, she writes with a lot of description and some of the scenes are extremely graphic. Reading about the pictures that Cate took put me there in that horrible place with her. It broke my heart. But, those graphic scenes are what drew me into the story.

I loved the dual POVs of Ash, Cate, Liam, and Sully. It allowed me to see what they were thinking and feeling. The chapters of flashbacks of all four people also gave me insight into each one as well. Fantastic book!
