She uses her fame as a wall around her heart, and only he can tear it down.

Seth Rafferty knows Heather Wainwright’s type.

Demanding. Check.

Self-important. Check.

Leggy and blonde. Yeah, he knows the drill.

He’s been a Hollywood production designer far too long to have patience for A-listers with a superior attitude. Beautiful women with a chip on their shoulder are a dime a dozen.

Which is why his obsession with Heather makes no sense. Nothing about her is attractive.

Except the vulnerability under the sass. The honesty under the attitude.

So when wrap-party flirting gets carried away, Seth doesn’t stop it from turning into a sizzling night of passion. Too late, he realizes, one night isn’t going to get her out of his system.

On to plan B: uncover the real woman under the diva.

Soon Heather will find out that Seth isn’t just a simple carpenter she can use and lose without consequences. He’ll play the part of the builder, but it’s her walls he intends to break down.

Movie star romances aren’t usually my favorite kind of romances, but Laurelin Paige has changed my mind! I really enjoyed this book! Heather Wainwright is an A-list actress who plays the diva really well. She appears to others as self-important and demanding…just like you would expect some Hollywood actresses would be. Seth Rafferty has worked his way up to a Hollywood production designer and is very proud of his accomplishments, but when he meets Heather for the first time she looks down her nose at him since she mistakes him for a carpenter. The two instantly dislike each other, but there is also an awful lot of lust too. They don’t know whether to kiss or kill one another. They two finally give into their lust for a passionate night neither one will soon forget. However, Heather thinks since he is just a carpenter she can just leave him. Oh, how very wrong she is. But, will each of them really trust the other one? What will she do when she finds out who he really is?

Heather is so complicated. At the beginning, I wasn’t her biggest fan. She came across as arrogant and condescending, especially in her early interactions with Seth. But as time went on, I saw that she was just jaded and protective of herself. I started to really feel some empathy for her. When I discovered the kind of childhood she had, no wonder she protected herself behind those steel walls around her heart. I love when a character grows and aren’t the same at the end of the book, and Heather definitely changed! She really did have a heart beating underneath that cold exterior.

Seth was one of my favorites from the very beginning although he kept some things from Heather. He, like Heather, didn’t trust easily because of his past. I can understand his not being honest after first meeting her. She really did play the diva part really well. I loved the fact that he didn’t care about her celebrity status. He cared about the woman underneath all of that. He had to play some games to get to see who Heather really was, and he forced her to deal really look at herself and deal with what she finally discovered about herself. Let me add….this man is something else in the bedroom!!!! WOW! He definitely likes control!

I have to add that I adored Lexie, Heather’s assistant. She really was one of the only people who saw past Heather’s defense mechanisms. She was definitely not afraid to express her opinions to her, and she also didn’t put up with her attitude either.

Star Struck was definitely more than a normal movie star romance. She did a fabulous job of showing her readers the negative aspects of being a star. They are definitely treated differently. Some are definitely adored, but does the public ever really know who they are as individuals? Heather had to hide her past despite it not being her fault because she thought it would impact how people saw her, even though people, in the business and outside, had already labeled her. I would imagine that some movie stars actually live very lonely lives despite being in the public. I think it would be hard to trust others’ motives…are they genuine or are they expecting something from me. So, thank you, Laurelin Paige, for an excellent romance filled with lots of steam (I mean lots!!!! Holy cow!!!!), but at times also sweet! Can’t wait for more!!!!!

About Laurelin Paige:

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She’s also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn’t do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.
