One heinous tragedy changed my entire family forever.
That morning, my world crumbled. I lost my parents.
Now, I live by certain rules.
Don’t let anyone know what goes on inside your head.
Stay away from crowds.
Never fall in love.
Though, that was until her. She has me questioning everything.
It’s the haunted eyes.
The sultry voice.
The sweetness under her armor.
Everything about her captivates me. The surge of energy we create with one touch has me searching for her, even when there’s also something dark underneath her bright smile.
Unable to resist the desire toward her, I break my rules giving her all of me while expecting all of her.
All of You All of Me is one of the most stunning, emotional, and beautiful books I have had the privilege to read! I’m almost at a loss of words after reading this! Hunter and Willow are both broken individuals, and because of that brokenness cannot live fully in the present. Each struggles but in different ways. Hunter has dealt with anxiety almost his entire life. Willow’s disorder leaves her life in chaos, never able to have an emotional connection except with her sister, Hazel. When the two meet for the first time, Hunter sees the side to Willow that only Hazel sees. She thinks she won’t ever see this kind stranger again which suits her just fine…even if he is drop dead gorgeous. Imagine her surprise when he shows up at her workplace, and she discovers the friendship he has with her sister. She reluctantly agrees to go out with him for dinner, and their lives are totally thrown off kilter. Over time, it will force them to face their issues and hopefully allow them to find their own special HEA.
Their first date was taut with emotions, and Burgoa has a magical way of capturing that with her words. She makes it known that while this is the beginning of something life-changing, it will also be full of ups and downs, and struggles for both of them.
“There’s no need for her to say more, I understand the pull between us. It’s like the moment we touched our bodies changed at a molecular level and we no longer need oxygen to exist, just each other.” ~ Hunter
While this is a romance involving a couple, it’s also a story of two individuals who are telling their own story, how to live with their pasts and be able to live a future together.
“You don’t have to everything at once, but why don’t you do it one step at a time?” ~Hunter
I loved that each character had their own voice. It enabled me to see what their issues were and to really empathize with them. Willow has an ice queen façade, but that is what she has had to do to survive. She hates surprises, and Hunter is the biggest surprise of all. Through her words, I could see how much she struggled. Hunter awoke something inside of her, yet she struggled to let him see who she really was for her fear of losing him.
“Working for my future implies working with my past.” ~ Willow
She definitely has to work with her past to have any future happiness. While she runs from emotional attachments, Hunter does the same but in a very different way. He is a serial monogamist, staying with women but never having an emotional attachment to them. But, Willow changes all that. He will have his own issues to work through before they can have even a small chance of happiness.
This is a book that at times can be absolutely gut-wrenching and heartbreaking to read, but it is such an important book to read…everyone should read it. Love is magical and can be miraculous, but love, as a concept, can’t cure everything. I loved the foreword by Elisabeth Coburn BA MC where she addresses this. Love is being there for the someone realizing you can’t always help them but supporting them in their quest to get better. That is the story that is Hunter and Willow. It is also a story about hope and realizing that no matter what issues people face, everyone deserves their own HEA.
