Holy cow! It’s been a while since a book has consumed me like this one! I am usually not a fan of love triangles, but this one intrigued me. It also doesn’t really play out like normal love triangles either! It just works, and it works in a BIG way!

Reese is usually responsible, but when she has the chance to spend the night with Mark Ashton, the lead singer in the rock group, VAIL, all that responsibility goes right out of the window. She knows it will be a night she will never forget, and she’s right. She knows his reputation and knows she is just the “woman for the night.” However, she feels a connection with him. She thinks he feels it too, but in her mind, she doesn’t think she measures up.

“This wasn’t just sex to either of us, it was something more, something deeper than I’ve ever felt with another human. We were connecting on some cellular level. We were imprinting on each other’s hearts. I knew he felt it, too, I knew he did, but despite that, I also knew it matter in the morning.”

Before Mark wakes up, she flees, relishing in the memories but hoping to forget him. That won’t be so easy though. When she runs into a handsome man in the lobby, she has no idea the course of her life will be forever altered. After turning down his offer for coffee, she returns to her life. Life has a way of surprising you, and she is definitely surprised when life brings her back to that sexy stranger, Brian, in the lobby. The two begin dating, and she is trying to put Mark behind her, but he’s always in the periphery.

As she and Brian are growing closer, she finds herself in Mark’s orbit again. As the synopsis tells us, Brian is Mark’s brother, and life for Reese is anything but ordinary any more, especially when Mark tells her he can’t forget about her.

“When you walked into the dressing room, it felt a little like destiny.”

To say this book is complicated and filled with drama is putting it mildly, but I LOVED every minute of it. In the beginning, I couldn’t understand why Reese was so hung up on Mark. It was just one night with a stranger even though she was his biggest fan, but she didn’t really KNOW him. When the author revealed the night in a flashback, I could completely understand. There was a connection. Reese is trying to feel something for Brian, but she feels different with Mark. He consumes her. When she is around him, she is only aware of him and her reaction to him, and Suzanne did a phenomenal job of making me feel it!

I have to say I’m leaning toward Team Mark right now. I just feel him more on an emotional level. However, like Reese, I’m not sure who I trust. I have a lot of unanswered questions. Is she a pawn in a competition between the two brothers? What are their motives? While Brian appears to be the perfect boyfriend, is he hiding some secrets? It’s these questions that kept me reading way into the wee hours of the morning! What an ending! Yes, it’s a cliffhanger, but I’m of those strange readers who actually likes them. I know there will be more to the story, and let me tell you, I cannot wait for the next book in this series which is coming in just a few weeks.
