It strikes
me suddenly that I’m not the only one who will notice how fucking good Tyler
looks now that he’s all clean-shaven and you can really see that ridiculously
fortunate bone structure he has. And I’m a little embarrassed about the fact
that I just got all possessive and shit. I’m about to say something to that
effect, either make a joke or play it off, but before I can, Tyler grabs me
around the waist, pulls me to him and whispers, “That was so fucking hot,” just
as the doors to another elevator pop open.
He walks me
backwards into the car and frantically pushes the “door close” button before
anyone else can step in. He’s got me pressed against the mirrored glass and his
hands are between my denim-covered thighs, cupping my pussy. He kisses my neck
and the feel of his lips, without any rough hair to brush and scratch against
mine, feels so good that I can barely stand it. I didn’t realize his kiss was
so soft. The skin of his mouth feels new. Like, I was just starting to get
accustomed to the way his kisses felt, and suddenly it’s a whole new
experience. New, but familiar. The same way it was when I met him.
It’s how
this whole moment feels. Back in the Mandarin where we were on Halloween when
we found out who we are. A concept which, I realize in this moment, might be
true in more ways than one. It’s been barely two months since we turned each
other’s lives upside down. Except that’s not quite fair. Or accurate. Our lives
were already upside down. We’ve turned them back right side up. Yeah, we
disrupted each other’s worlds, but we did so in the most magnificent way. And
it’s starting to feel like that disruption is going to result in a life that
actually feels… settled.
I realize
that life with Tyler Morgan will never be boring. That much seems incredibly
evident. But life is unpredictable no matter what we do to try to put rules in
place to keep it from feeling that way. At least with Tyler the
unpredictability doesn’t seem scary. With him, as much as is possible, the
unpredictability feels safe.
Just like
the beard was keeping me at a distance from the people I would see walking down
the street, it was keeping me at a distance from her when we were alone
together. It was an unrealized blockade impeding my ability to be as close to
her as I want to be. There is no such impediment now, and I am engulfing myself
inside her.
The feel of
my cheeks nuzzled in between hers makes this moment seem so…sweet. It’s nice.
I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s just kind of…pure. That’s how I
feel. That’s what I think.
I also feel
like one good rimming deserves another.
So, moving
my head in tiny circles around her ass, just like she did to me a couple of
days ago, I get off on the whining noises she makes, and I work two fingers
inside her pussy to help everybody along. With my other hand I begin fisting my
cock. I’m trying to go slowly so that I don’t fucking come right here all over
the Mandarin’s nice carpet. I already burned down one of their condos, I don’t
want to fuck up one of their suites too. New-look Tyler is considerate like
that. But as slowly as I’m trying to
go, she’s making it tough because of the way she’s rotating her ass and hips
suddenly, I don’t want to be behind her. I mean, I love the view from here and
I love the way she tastes, but I want
to see her. I want to look at her face and have her look at mine. Yeah. I want
her to look at me. I want her to see me.
So I pull away,
flop down on my back on the bed beside her, and summon to her with my index
finger to come over. She does, smiling as she mounts me. She takes my two
fingers that were just inside her and puts them in her mouth. And I remember
the first time I saw her do that. I told her, “You’re going to fucking kill
me.” But she didn’t. She didn’t. It was exactly the opposite. She fucking saved
me. And so now, with her astride me, I sit up, take her face in my hands, look
her square in the eyes, and tell her, “I fucking love you.”
She closes
her own eyes with a shy smile and whispers, “I fucking love you.”

On the Edge (A Winter Games Novel) by Dr. Rebecca Sharp Book Tour with Review & Giveaway ($25.00 Amazon Gift card)

Title: On the Edge
Series: A Winter Games Novel
Author: Dr. Rebecca Sharp
Genre: NA Romance (Stand alone)
Release Date: May 1, 2018

Do. Not. Touch.
Alice Ryder came with more warning signs than a museum exhibit.
Under twenty-one. Best friend’s baby sister. Heart-broken.
I was only supposed to keep an eye on her and keep my hands to myself.
But her sunshine sucked me in.
Why did she have to want me? Why did she have to want me to save her?
I wasn’t her savior. I wasn’t the prince in her fairytale.
I was only the asshole in shining armor.

For some, heartbreak becomes a habit.
Losing so much had taught me that it’s easier to just give up the things you care about before they are taken.
Because you can’t lose what you don’t have.
I gave up the warmth of the sun and sand hoping that the cold, snowy mountains of Colorado would be able to numb whatever feelings I had left and bury the pieces of my heart under the frost.
And then I met Emmett Jameson – the King of the Mountain and my brother’s best friend.
He was cold and controlling – treating me like the child that I wasn’t.
He was everything that promised to break what was left of me.
And I needed him for it.
My shattered heart would be safe wanting someone like him.
Then again, heartbreak was my bad habit.

“This book was a fantastic read. I really hope that there is more …” – Lindsey Kramer

“I love The King of the Mountain” – Katie Silvi

“King of the Mountain may just be my new book boyfriend! <3” – Elizabeth Sherrell

Wow!!! The sexual tension doesn’t just crackle in this book…it threatens to explode. Ally is returning home to Colorado to be with her brother and sister. She has spent many years living in Florida, but she needs the support of her family right now. She has suffered a devastating loss, and she needs to be somewhere that she isn’t surrounded by memories that threaten to drown her.

Emmett has baggage of his own…family issues and secrets. He is also several years older than Ally, but when he meets her, she gets under his skin like no one has before. But, she is off limits. She is the little sister of his best friend, but no matter how hard he tries, Ally keeps invading his thoughts.

When these two meet for the first time, they are both thrown off kilter, feeling things neither has felt for anyone else EVER!!!! However, with the powerful attraction is a lot of snark between them. Ally has never met someone whom she wants to kiss and then in the next instant, punch. And, he can’t decide whether he wants to pull her close or push her away. Ally has even started a diary detailing the reasons she hates him. Sharp definitely knows how to use sexual chemistry to her advantage. I just kept hoping these two would finally get on the same page. If two people ever deserved a happy ever after, it was these two.

The synopsis doesn’t even brush the surface of the depth of this book. It is a romance with depth and emotion. I really like the fact that in the last chapter Sharp sets up the next book which will be Chance’s book. I can’t wait to read that one. I think he is going to have quite a story to tell us.

My Sweet Friend by H. A. Leuschel Blog Tour with Review & Giveway (Win a signed copy of Manipulated Lives Open Internationally)

My Sweet Friend

by  H.A. Leuschel

A stand-alone novella from the author of Manipulated Lives

A perfect friend … or a perfect impostor?

Alexa is an energetic and charismatic professional and the new member of a Parisian PR company where she quickly befriends her colleagues Rosie and Jack. She brings a much-needed breath of fresh air into the office and ambitiously throws herself into her new job and friendships.

But is Alexa all she claims to be?

As her life intertwines with Rosie and Jack’s, they must all decide what separates truth from fiction. Will the stories that unfold unite or divide them? Can first impressions ever be trusted?

In this original novella, H.A. Leuschel evokes the powerful hold of appearances and what a person is prepared to do to keep up the facade. If you like thought-provoking and compelling reads with intriguing characters, My Sweet Friend is for you.

Never have a read such a suspenseful and action-packed novella! It may only be 92 pages, but Leuschel left nothing out!!!!

This is an incredible look into a disturbed and manipulative female mind! Alexa appears perfect. She is the shining example of a high-powered executive. However, you know what many people say, appearances can be deceiving, and that is definitely the case with Alexa. She is beautiful, smart, and people take notice when she enters a room. Underneath, she is none of those things except a disturbed and manipulative individual. It doesn’t take her long to win over almost everyone in her new job except Monique who can see Alexa isn’t all she pretends to be.

On the other hand, Rosie is sweet and very hard-working. She works long hours to pay for her mother’s care, but she is still having trouble making ends meet. It doesn’t take Alexa long to worm her way into Rosie’s life offering a shoulder to lean on. When you lean on Alexa, it always comes with a price as Rosie will soon discover.

The book was narrated by both Alexa and Rosie. It was incredible seeing inside Alexa’s mind. Readers get an up close and personal view of just what a psychopath she truly is. In her warped perception, she is the victim. She is always the one being taken advantage of and set up. In reality, she is the perpetrator, not the victim, which was fascinating to see how warped her perception was.

This is a book certain to spark some interesting conversations, and it would make a great read for a book club!

Nazarea Andrews has crafted a great romantic novel about second chances!

Rusty Nail is the second novel in the River Bar Series, and this book is about Aidric (which by the way, I love his name) and Olivia. Life has been very different for each of them. Aidric has lived what looks like a pretty easy life. He has money, women, and can pretty much do what he wants. Olivia was the smart girl in high school with plans to leave her small town behind. Unfortunately, she wasn’t expecting to be pregnant her senior year. As adult, her life is one of responsibilities, being a single mother and trying to keep her family’s construction business afloat. They each know of each other, but don’t really know one another. Fate is getting ready to step in to change that.

Aidric has had the rug completely pulled out from under him. He has gone from a life of no responsibilities to a life full of them now…with the discovery that he has an 11-year-old daughter, and she is coming to live with him, after her mother’s death. Some men may run from that, but he isn’t like most men. He dives headfirst into fatherhood. That takes guts, and it is in no way an easy task as he soon finds out. His daughter, Kendra, is dealing with nightmares and fear that she will be abandoned by him. He has hired Olivia to help him rebuild his home that burned, but she quickly becomes a huge support for him because she knows exactly what it’s like to be a single parent.

Olivia is a woman to be admired. In the face of challenge, she rises to the occasion refusing to give up. She can’t because she has a son, Theo, to raise. She is also trying to keep her father’s construction company in business which is now hers. She has sacrificed so much for her son. It’s nice when she and Aidric become friends, and in a sense become a team in raising their children. Unlike most books, it isn’t the man questioning the relationship, it’s Olivia. But, I could understand, she has never really had a man to lean on, nor has she ever felt for another man what she feels for Aidric. I just kept hoping she would give him a chance to prove himself.

Rusty Nail is a slow-burning romance, but I felt like it worked for this book. Both have responsibilities outside of themselves, so it wouldn’t work for them to throw caution to the wind and jump into a relationship. As with the first book in the series, this one is a romance with depth and emotion. One thing that struck me was that Andrews not only gave a voice to Olivia and Aidric, but she gave a voice to the kids, Kendra and Theo. I thought that was a brilliant move on her part. They were a driving force in the story so it was important for them to be able to tell their part of the story as well. As a bonus, I got to catch up with characters from the first book. I’m looking forward to the next one in the series!!!!
