Grip it softly.

Stroke it smooth.
And you’ll sink right into the hole. That’s my motto both on
and off the golf course. The women come in full supply everywhere I go and
there are no complaints. Maybe it’s the size of my driver that gets them going.
I’m Lucas “Ace” Montgomery, professional golfer and world
record holder for the longest drive in golf history. The PGA Tour has been my
life, but it’s time for a break. A few relaxing weeks of drinking and golf with
friends in Myrtle Beach is what I need. However, when a bright pink ball knocks
me out on the course, and a blonde beauty comes to my aid, I expect to see a
gallery girl, a.k.a a member of the Party Groupie Association. Trust me, those
girls know how to have fun. Although, to my surprise, it’s not what I get at
all.
Dr. Ashley Locke is beautiful and everything I’d want if I
was ever to get serious about someone. Unfortunately, she has no interest in me
whatsoever which only makes me want her more. All she wants is to get through
her friend’s bachelorette weekend and go back to her life, but after injuring
me on the course, I’m not letting her run away so easily. When I want
something, I get it.
I’m not competing for money this time. All I want is to win
her heart.

Christie’s Review

5 STARS

Going For The Hole is a sexy, sweet, and witty romantic comedy.

Lucas and Ashley are not looking for love, but you know how the saying goes, “love finds you when you are least expecting it,” as this couple will soon discover. Lucas is a pro-golfer looking for some rest and relaxation with his brother and his best friend at a resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. Ashley is a successful doctor who is at the same resort for a bachelorette week for her soon to be sister-in-law. She is enjoying being with her best friend, Harper, and having fun again after her cheating ex.

The attraction between these two is evident from their very first meeting. What begins as lust soon turns into something much more. They are perfectly suited to one another. Both are successful, independent, and intelligent. Lucas really respects Ashley, and no woman has every affected him this way. Ashley is one of the only women who doesn’t just fall in love with him immediately because of his fame. In fact, that really turns her off, but as she gets to know the man, she sees a whole different side of him. I loved the sexy and sarcastic banter between the two of them. I enjoyed the romance between them, but I really enjoyed the fact that they really liked each other as people. Not only was there a romance but a mutual respect and friendship.

However, some miscommunication and misunderstandings occur that add some angst and drama to the book. Thankfully, it doesn’t overwhelm the book, and it’s short-lived. There is a great cast of secondary characters who are busy falling in love as well, but it flows very smoothly with the rest of the story.

I loved the setting of the book, but I may be a little partial as I’m a South Carolina girl myself who is living in Georgia. Anytime I can find a book about my home state, I relish in it. Dover did a great job of showing just how special and beautiful the area is, so thank you, LP Dover!

Be sure to read L.P. Dover’s note at the end of the book. It’ a personal note, and I’m even more impressed with her. I love and respect that she has used her words as a way to bring attention to a rare disorder that affects others. Hopefully, this exposure will lead to more research and a way to save lives.

Excerpt

“When can I see you again?”
I shook my head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“I took a needle in the ass for you. Surely, that deserves
more of your attention?”
Why did he always have to give me that devilish smile of
his? As much as I wanted to hate it, I couldn’t.“Why are you doing this? Can’t
you find someone else?”
“Of course I can, but I want you. We can have secret
meetings in here if you’re still embarrassed to be seen in public with me.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m not embarrassed. You’re you, and
I’m a respectable member of society.”
He burst out laughing. “Okay, I see how it is.”
“I just don’t want the publicity,” I added. “You can
understand that, right? You of all people should know what it’s like not to
have privacy.”
His smile faded. “You’re right, I do, but it’s my life. I
can’t change who I am.” My body shivered with the intensity of his stare. “For
once, I thought I’d found someone who wanted me for me and not my money or
fame.”
Guilt racked my body and I sighed. “Okay, I give in. I can
see you tomorrow, after I get out of the spa. Maybe we can order in room
service.”
Eyes twinkling, he went over to the door and opened it. “Now
that’s a plan I can get behind.”
Before I could walk out, he stood in
my way, body close to mine. “I’m going to break through that ice wall of yours,
sunshine. One way or another.”
I batted my eyelashes in an innocent matter. “Good luck with
that.”

Captivating Melody (Discord’s Desire)

by Katherine McIntyre

Blurb:

Cross a satyr, a siren, and an incubus with rock and roll, and you get Discord’s Desire, a band of panty-dropping hellions whose live shows incite orgies. As booking manager, Liz O’Brien has the monumental task of keeping the boys in line. She’s resistant to glamour of the fae and fame variety, which only makes her more tempting to lead singer, Kieran Blackmore. With his incubus charms, he could have any girl he wants—except Liz, who’s determined to stay professional.

However, when Kieran’s brother sends hitmen after the band, Liz discovers hunters with her abilities who are mortal enemies of the fae. Mercenaries might attack post-show, but Liz has her Beretta to handle that. What terrifies her more than any monster is how she’s falling for Kieran, which triggers every ‘run-away’ sensor in her foster kid handbook. With war brewing between the hunters and the fae, their love can only end in heartbreak.

Excerpt:

To her relief, the lights dimmed even more, and the spotlights circled to the front and center stage, casting a hush through the crowd. A smile curled her lips once Kieran’s sultry voice came over the speakers, the effects dropping like a pheromone bomb onto the audience. A visible ripple didn’t cascade through the air, but once his voice reached a familiar intensity and the rest of the band began playing, a huge scream resounded through the crowd.

Even without the incubus abilities at work, she had to admit, the man possessed a toe-curlingly sexy voice. As she scanned over the crowd, the beginnings of the orgy broke out, where strangers locked lips and deepened their kisses. A pair in front of her started getting handsy, and all of a sudden shirts were coming off. They weren’t even finished the first song, and the scent of sex laced through the room.

Liz let out a sigh. This was why she stayed backstage during the shows. Her glamour-resistance turned her into the one sober person at this lust inspired rager. Her dry spell would have to continue for now since she refused to hook up with the tool next to her and didn’t mainline the swell of sexuality like everyone else. Plus, with Mr. Fae Bartender behind her, she needed to act with extra caution. Bolting from fae sent the same message as a red flag to a bull—pretty please, come chase me.

On stage, Trevor thrummed away at the guitar, his fingers plucking over the strings with the skillful focus he always employed. He leaned up to the mic in front of him to add in the background vocals, the sensual tenor blending with Ky’s baritone. Renn’s hair flew as he thrashed away at the drums, his hands moving lightning fast and his hooves tapping the pedals. Meanwhile Jett romanced the length of his bass, providing the deep undercurrent the siren always did as those notes came out soul-wrenching.

Kieran’s voice reached a crescendo, drawing her attention front and forward. Normally when he sang, his gaze cast far and wide over the audience, as if he were romancing the crowd as a whole, but tonight, his eyes were locked on one person alone. She tried to swallow, but her throat grew dry.

Long strands of his dark hair drifted across his eyes as he clutched the microphone and rocked back and forth with it, the intensity projecting in his voice. He’d tossed his patched leather to the floor, stripped to a black wifebeater that clung to him like a second skin and revealed the intricate phoenix tattoo coiling down his arm. His hips shifted while he moved to the beat of the music, his grey jeans clinging to those powerful thighs. Yet nothing snared her as much as his amber eyes focused straight on her the entire time.

Heat flushed through her at his undivided attention, and while she’d like to blame it on all the bump and grind going on around her, Kieran got her hot and bothered. However, she wasn’t one to sit back and melt. Liz met his eyes and winked with a smirk. She caught the hint of a smile by the crinkle in his eyes as he crooned away.

Zane Shaw isn’t the type to cower in a corner, until he meets Honor Sullivan. She’s the most phenomenal woman he’s ever met, but he’s been burned before and so he’s doomed to fall for her from a distance. If only his past hadn’t left him so weary, perhaps he could be the man he was raised to be.

Honor Sullivan has too much at stake to get distracted by a man. But Zane Shaw isn’t just any man. He’s smart, gorgeous, and a survivor like her. Which is why she knows, deep down, that he deserves someone better than her. Someone whole and undamaged. Yet she can’t seem to contain the way he makes her feel.

These two jaded souls with an instant connection just might find that true love is a joy best savored in the aftermath of life’s hardships and pain.

About Tess

Like most of her characters, Tess Thompson hails from a small town and will always feel like a small town girl, despite the fact she’s lived in Seattle for over twenty-five years. She loves music and dancing, books and bubble baths, cooking and wine, movies and snuggling. She cries at sappy commercials and thinks kissing in the rain should be done whenever possible. Although she tries to act like a lady, there may or may not have been a few times in the last several years when she’s gotten slightly carried away watching the Seattle Seahawks play, but that could also just be a nasty rumor.

She currently lives in a suburb of Seattle, Washington with her brand new husband, the hero of her own love story, and their Brady Bunch clan of two sons, two daughters and five cats, all of whom keep her too busy, often confused, but always amazed. Yes, that’s four kids and five cats. Pray for her.

Kelsey has been in love with her boss for years but he doesn’t notice her other than to talk about work stuff.  She decides to turn to her friend, the sexy bartendar at the bar she goes to regularly with friends, Chase, for help. Chase has no problem picking up women and she is confident he can teach her how to flirt and get her boss to finally take interest in her. Chase agrees to give her lessons in flirting and showing off her sexiness but during the “lessons” Kelsey starts to become aware of how well she gets along with Chase and how truly sexy he is and that the growing attraction is mutual.

I’d never had a man look at me the way that Chase was, hot and intense, and that look from him gave me the power and confidence I had always wanted.”

I LOVED Chase and Kelsey together!! This was a fantastic rom-com and the secondary characters were great as well!! The banter between the friends, the chemistry between Chase and Kelsey, the relateable characters, etc make this an easy, most enjoyable read. This is my first book by this author but I will definitely be checking out more from her!! I can’t wait for the next one in this series!

The Upside of Falling (The Blue Line Duet Book 1) Review Blitz with Excerpt! 5 ++++ Star Read!

Tucked away at the base of the Rocky Mountains lived a little boy with one singular dream: leave this broken and battered home and become someone.

Be somebody’s hero.

That boy was me—Colby Brooks. Except I’m not that same little boy anymore.

My dreams might still be the same, but my reality isn’t.

I’m smarter. Stronger. A man.

And I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost.

Focus. Resolve. Determination.

But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed.

One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks.

Smart. Charming. Beautiful.

Rory changed everything.

Quickly, my one-track mind started to bend.

Each kiss faded decade-long dreams.

And with one single incident, I fly off course.

EXCERPT:

Head turned down, pushing the sleeves of his white Henley up his arms, he swaggers toward me. His jeans hang low on his hips, held up by the same brown belt he wore the other night. His narrow waist directs my eyes to the center of his jeans, and I can’t help wonder what might be behind the crotch of his pants.

And then there is his chest. Barrel like, broad and prominent. His thick biceps showcase his strength, and the fabric of his shirt stretches over his shoulders and forearms. Having spent a lot of time at the gym, I’ve seen every body type, but Colby’s is different. He’s strong, built, but not like a body builder. His body seems to suggest the only kind of weight he’s been lifting is his own body, pushup after pushup. I can’t imagine there being barbells in his workouts, but I can imagine logs, cadets, and heavy machinery. He has working muscles, the kind you earn from hard, dedicated work on the field. In a word? Impressive.

Walking up to Stryder, he grips his friend’s shoulder and says something into his ear. A smirk crosses Stryder’s face before he moves over to our side of the bowling alley and takes Colby’s place.

Is he leaving? Already?

Might as well at this point. It’s not like he’s going to talk to me, not after my pathetic attempt at a bet. I should have known I was going to hang out in the gutter all night. It’s where I usually am when I’m bowling. I blame the ball. The thing has a vendetta against me.

Sighing, I prop my chin in my hand and watch Stryder expertly toss his ball down the lane, getting a strike . . . once again. And just like every other strike, he pumps his arm up in the air and celebrates. We get it, you’re good, no need to—

“Hey.”

That voice . . .

Stunned, eyes wide, not able to move, not wanting to scare him away, I keep my eyes trained forward, soaking in that beautifully deep voice of his for a brief moment before saying, “Hey.”

“Can I sit here?”

Still keeping my eyes trained forward, I say, “Sure.”

My body tingles with awareness of how close he is to me, that fresh laundry scent invading my senses, prickling the little hairs on my arm. My body leans toward his, wanting a little more, searching for anything else he might give me. I don’t know why he’s choosing to engage me in conversation, but I’m sure as hell not moving while he does.

“Sorry about tonight,” he says and he actually sounds sincere.

“Why are you sorry?” I mumble.

Reaching around, he takes my cheek in his hand. The callouses on his palm rubbing against my skin is a welcome sensation. As I’m turned toward him, I steady my breathing. I’m having a hard time slowing my heart rate because of his close proximity, and the unexpected touch shooting a wave of heat through my veins.

“I’m sorry you didn’t get to ask me any questions. I didn’t think you were going to suck that bad.” A playful smile tugs at his lips, and my heart sinks to the floor. Oh God, he’s so gorgeous, especially when he smiles.

Matching his smirk, I say, “I didn’t think I was going to suck that bad either.”

“I feel bad.”

“You should.” That garners a laugh, deep and throaty, the sound cloaking me like a shield, protecting me from the outside world, bringing me into a little bubble where we are the only two that exist.

“Ask me a question.”

Shocked, I swallow hard and say, “Really?”

He nods and holds up his fingers. “You get three.”

“Oh, three? Wow, I feel like you just gave me the key to your soul.”

Rolling his eyes, he adjusts his stance on the barstool and leans back, giving us some space, our knees still knocking into each other. “Easy killer; it’s just three questions.”

“Yeah, three questions I didn’t have before.” Tapping my chin, I try to think of good questions, but now that I have him willing and waiting, nothing comes to mind. I wasn’t prepared for this, he caught me off-guard, and now I feel I can’t be strategic about my probing. “Hmm . . . what do you like to do on the weekends?”

“Jump,” he answers.

Searching his eyes, lips quirked, I say, “Uh, you’re going to have to be more specific than that. What kind of jumping are we talking here? Like jump roping? Because that seems kind of weird to do on the weekends, and if you tell me you’re in some kind of jump-roping club at the academy, I’m not going to believe you.”

His lips curve up as he scratches the side of his jaw. “Jump out of airplanes.”

Oh.

Oh.

That’s . . .

Uh, that’s really hot.

“So you just casually jump out of airplanes?”

“I’m part of the Wings of Blue, the academy’s parachute team. We jump every day, at least two to three times a day after class and before dinner, depending on wind and ceiling limits. On the weekends, some of the guys, including Stryder and me, go to Springs East Airport and do civilian jumps. The more jumps we get in, the higher the chance we’ll be considered for big demonstrations, like parachuting into football games and major sporting events for the Rockies and Broncos.” Ummmm. Did anyone else just hear how many words he gifted me? And seriously? Does the man have no clue how incredibly sexy he is when he talks about something he loves? The expression on his face . . .

“Wow, that’s . . . that’s really hot.” I chuckle. “Sorry, I don’t mean to fangirl over your parachuting, but I guess I wasn’t expecting that answer. You just jump out of planes?”

He slowly nods. “Every day.”

“Anything to get you up in the clouds, huh?”

“Yeah,” he answers shyly, rubbing his jaw. “Okay, next question.”

Christie’s Review

5 ++++ STARS

A Top Read of 2018

At the beginning of the synopsis, it was written that the Upside of Falling was “gripping, heart-stopping, and an incredible epic journey with a twist you’ll never see coming.” That statement is 100 % accurate. My heart certainly pounded, and it kept me up well into the night. And the ending….holy cow….never in a million years did I see that one coming.

Meghan Quinn had me in the prologue with Colby. I knew then he would grow into an incredible man, and he did. Granted, he was pretty rigid, but he had to be. Routine kept him stable and kept him on the road to his goal of becoming a fighter pilot. That one dream kept him going during the trying and dark times in his life, and he wants no distractions to get in the way. He has made sure he has none until Rory. He knew he was in trouble the moment he saw her,

There is an air of exuberance surrounding her, a bright beacon in the dark night. Her smile, her laughter…It lights up the night, drawing attention to her from everyone around her. There’s no denying her beauty or the way she so easily captures people. But I’m not sure she’s aware.

This one moment will completely turn his world upside down, and he will be faced with some life-altering decisions.

Rory was a character I really liked and respected. She was a young woman who had a dream as a young child, but life threw her a curveball. She had to give up those dreams, but instead of being bitter, she tries to live a life that will make her happy. For the most part, she is. However, she wants love just like everyone else. She spends times caring for others, and she wants someone to take care of her. So far, she hasn’t had much luck until she meets Colby. Just like with him, she knew in that one moment, her life is changed.

Colby is different. He’s commanding with the strength in his step, the stiffness of his broad shoulders, the mysterious searching of his cautious eyes, and the strong set in his carved jaw. There is an air about him that sucks you in the moment you make eye contact, taking you on a stomach-dropping, heart-stopping journey.

Her life is complicated, and as she and Colby begin falling in love, the direction of his life will impact hers, and she will also have to face tough life-altering decisions.

Oh my gosh, I don’t think I have enjoyed watching two people fall in love as I did these two. It brings back memories of falling in love with the man who was “the one for me.” Quinn created such complex and relateable characters in Colby and Rory which helped me connect with them on such an emotional level.

This book is much different from the books I normally read from Meghan Quinn, but it is just as good! I still saw a little bit of Quinn’s trademark humor in the banter between Colby and Rory and their relationships with their friends, but this one is much heavier. As other readers are saying, I never in a million years saw that ending coming, so I’m incredibly anxious to get my hands on the next book.

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT:

I peeled back the covers and sheet and helped her into bed. Her red hair splayed out on the pillow, a stark contrast to the white. Man, she was pretty. Considering she’d told the hotel clerk that she was taking advantage of me, she was also slightly delusional.

“Evan?”

It stung every time she used my brother’s name. But again, no one to blame but myself. “Yeah?”

“Come cuddle with me. My eyes don’t need to be open for that, and it’ll help me fall asleep. Right now I’m in that weird in-between phase.” Her words came out slurred and sluggish. “Like I can’t fully relax even as the medication is trying to pull me under, so I’m just in limbo. I hate limbo.”

The oxygen drained from my lungs. I didn’t know if I could be as strong as I needed to be if I crawled into that bed.

Her arm swung out, sweeping the air until she made contact with my wrist. I could’ve easily resisted the tug, but I didn’t want to.

“Just a sec,” I said.

“Did you say sex?”

I bit back a groan—she wasn’t going to make this easy. I kicked off my shoes, considered taking off my jeans and then decided that’d only ensure my failure to behave, and climbed in next to her.

Rustling came from her side, and the next thing I knew, she’d thrown her bra and shorts out of the bed, leaving her in only her shirt and… I resisted looking, even though it was all I could think about.

I wasn’t Superman; I was a fucking saint.

My sainthood was tested when she snuggled up to me, resting her head on my shoulder and hooking her leg over both of mine. Having her next to me was the sweetest kind of torture. Her warm breath hit my neck a mere moment before her soft lips.

She was definitely initiating, and I was definitely turned on. But I was also definitely shutting it down. Since I didn’t want to hurt her feelings, especially after that ridiculous comment about being disappointed, I gently shifted, pulling her back against my front. I couldn’t do much about the hard-on. Her ass was right there. A choked noise escaped my mouth as she wiggled against me.

Taking shallow, tempered sips of air, I dragged my fingertips over her arm and back up. Over her shoulder and down her spine.

Her breathing slowed; mine quickened.

Her body relaxed; mine tensed.

She let go and let sleep take her; I clung on to consciousness, soaking in the way she felt in my arms.

Hadn’t I already accepted the fact that I was going to hell for this? Paving my way with every stolen look, kiss, and touch?

I settled my hand on her hip and kissed the back of her head.

If so, let me burn.

About Cindi:

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting, revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a pretty new pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music and dancing and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband, three children, and one overly-dramatic tomcat.
