Murder in the Cards (Psychic Poker Pro Mystery)
by Paige Sleuth
About the Book
Tiffany Swanson is finally living the dream when she quits her stressful job to become a poker pro. Except her dream job doesn’t turn out to be so perfect when she picks up the troubling vision of a murdered man from one of her opponents. Even more disturbing, Tiffany didn’t know she was telepathic.
Before long she finds herself spending more time investigating a homicide than playing cards. But with an entire wedding party to suspect and only one weekend to pinpoint the guilty party, how will Tiffany ever figure out “whodunit” in time?

Murder in the Cards by Paige Sleuth was an enjoyable cozy mystery with paranormal elements! Tiffany Swanson, Tiffy to her family, has a pretty stressful job, and she has had enough. She has decided to quit and become a professional poker player. Needless to say, her parents aren’t pleased, but she is a grown woman capable of making her own decisions. But, before long, this change of occupation will be the least of her concerns. It turns out she might be psychic like her Aunt Tuna, and to top it off, she has a vision of a homicide. Before long, she finds herself mixed up in a dangerous mystery.
The characters were some of my favorite kind…quirky and funny. Tiffy’s mother is hilarious, and the relationship she shares with her parents is part of what made the book so enjoyable for me. Tiffy’s Aunt Tuna becomes a pretty important character because that is who she turns to when she has her first vision.
I’m looking forward to seeing further development in the characters as this is the first book in the series. I know it was hard for Tiffy to deal with becoming a professional poker player and then finding out you are psychic. That will take some adjusting. However, I thought the pairing of those two elements stands out in the mystery genre. I’m looking forward to reading more in the series to see just how Tiffy grows and adjusts to her new-found career and ability. I have a feeling she will be solving a lot more mysteries in her future. This looks like a promising new mystery series.
