Title: Teased by Fire
Author: Molly O’Hare
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: October 2, 2018

Olive has always been content living an anti-social existence while letting the characters she writes about fulfill her wild side. She’s worked hard to achieve a zero human interaction life. However, that came to an end when out of nowhere her best friend announced she’s moving out, and her brother was moving in. Not only does Olive now have to deal with the guy that has teased her their whole life, but he also came with a cat the size of a human child.

Hank’s had a thing for Olive for as long as he could remember. When he realized she needed a roommate, he jumped at the chance. Why wouldn’t he when annoying Olive had always been his favorite pastime? Then one day when Hank let his curiosity get the better of him, he discovered Olive had a whole other side of her she kept hidden away.

Now, all Hank had to do was convince Olive life was a heck of a lot more fun when you add some fire to it. Honestly, what could possibly go wrong?

Christie’s Review

Teased by Fire is the perfect combination of steam, romance, and humor!!!!

The book opens with Olive steaming mad that her bestie, Miranda, is moving out. She isn’t mad that Miranda is leaving. She is sad, but she would never ask her friend to turn down her dream job. No, she is mad that Miranda’s brother, Hank, is moving in. She has worked hard to maintain her anti-social existence, and Hank is the complete opposite. This girl is clueless about what’s coming her way….see Hank has always had a thing for her, and he is about tired of keeping those feelings secret.

Can I just say that I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Olive!!!! She is one of the most likeable and unique female lead characters I’ve had the pleasure to meet….and she owns that uniqueness which made me love her more. This woman has a Christmas tree in her room all year long! I would love that!!!!  That’s not to say she doesn’t have insecurities like most women do, but she does not let those insecurities determine the direction of her life.

Hank is one of those guys you can’t help but love. Yeah, he’s pretty easy on the eyes, but he is much more than his looks. He loves Olive for who she is even if he thinks she needs to get out more, but he accepts that about her. He challenges Olive which she needs sometimes. And, who couldn’t love a guy who has a cat named Dog? Speaking of Dog, she was a character herself! I LOVED HER!!!

This wasn’t just a fantastic romantic comedy. It was about accepting who you are as a person and owning it. That is a lesson I think a lot of us could learn. This is my first book by Molly O’Hare, and I’m so thankful and excited that I found her. If you want a book that just brings a smile to your face and makes reality slip away for a bit, you can’t find a better book than Teased by Fire.

Author Bio
Much like any author out there, sleeping does not come easy to Molly. As it turns out, she has horrible insomnia. When she was younger, to help herself fall asleep she would recite stories. Each night she’d pick up where the story left off previously until the tale was complete. One morning, after she finished a particularly fun adventure, she decided she wanted to start sharing them with others. A few months later, here she is, sharing her lack of sleep with all of you. Who says the stories in our heads can’t be fun for others?

Also, she loves Fun Facts. New ones are at the end of each of her book. If you look close enough, some are hidden on her website too.

The Makings of a Lady

The Makings of a Lady

by Catherine Tinley

Be calm, she thought.
Be gracious. Be twenty-two.

Lady Olivia Fanton is eager to prove she’s no longer a child. However, just as she thinks she’s found a suitable match in the suave Mr Manning, charismatic Captain Jem Ford walks back into her life, bringing with him all the embarrassment of her infatuation four years before! She’s determined to appear mature, distant, friendly. But does she dare hope he’ll notice her as the lady she’s become?

Christie’s Review

The Makings of a Lady gave me two things I love: a historical romance and a somewhat “friends to more” romance.

Lady Olivia has always had feelings for Jem Ford. The book opens with her hoping for a marriage proposal from him, but she doesn’t get that. She gets the news that he is leaving for Australia. Her hopes are dashed. However, she doesn’t marry in the years that pass, and she feels unsettled. She is too old to be considered a girl, yet in those times, she was also not allowed to be a woman. Her brothers have families, and she has no nothing in her life to challenge her. This is why I liked Olivia…she wanted to be her own person, not just someone’s niece, aunt, sister-in-law, or sister. She wanted her own identity. What an independent thinking woman well ahead of her time.

She won’t be bored for long because Jem has returned, and all her feelings for him return as well. But, she is different, more mature. She decides she will be friendly to him, but she won’t ever let her true feelings show, especially now that she has a man that may be the right one for her, Mr. Manning. She can try to convince herself of that. Things get complicated as Jem has always harbored feelings for her, and he left to make something of his life, maybe even to make himself worthy for her.

The romance is sweet and told from both points of view, so readers get a little insight into what the other is thinking, even if Olivia and Jem are clueless….which made things a bit frustrating with all their miscommunications.

I highly recommend reading this book and the series if you love historical novels with strong women and men who are gallant heroes and a bit of humor thrown in.
