A Little Hotel in Cornwall is the beginning of a new series of novellas that promise to be delightful!

I loved the fact that romance somewhat took a back seat in this book. This was the beginning of Maisie’s journey in discovering who she is and what direction she wants her life to go in. She is also quite likeable with a great sense of humor. I’m really looking forward to getting to know her better in future books.

This is a novella, but the writer didn’t leave anything out. Instead of short-changing her readers, she takes her time in developing the story and makes me really anticipate the next book in the series. On to top it off, she is a fabulous writer who wields magic with her words!!!!

A Clean Canvas by Elizabeth Mundy is an intriguing cozy mystery and a bit different. It doesn’t involve a murder but the disappearance of a valuable painting.

Lena owns her own cleaning business that really only generates enough business for her but being the kind-hearted person she is, she hires her cousin, Sarika, to help her. Lena volunteered herself and Sarika to serve food and drinks at a gala for the art gallery she cleans, not knowing it would send her on a twisted journey that exposes many secrets!

Sarika is the suspect when a valuable painting goes missing, but Lena knows she didn’t do it. However, she faces a huge problem when Sarika goes missing too! Is her disappearance related to the theft and is she in danger?

This was a great mystery that kept me guessing. Lena is a strong, independent, loyal woman…she won’t rest until she finds her cousin and proves her innocence. There is a lot of twists and turns and plenty of suspects.

If you are looking for a different sort of mystery, I recommend this one!

Christie’s Review

Beautiful story about friendship, realizing your dreams, and a second chance at romance!

Janna and Shelby were best friends who decided to move from a bigger city to a smaller town to pursue their shared dream. Even though this is about the friendship between these two women, it is told from Janna’s POV and later in her love interest, Richard’s, POV. However, I did learn a lot about Shelby from Janna. Both women are complicated and have their issues, Shelby turns to alcohol, and Janna has a problem with her temper. Yet, that makes them very relatable.

Richard is also new to town, and the ladies find him quite mysterious and handsome. However, he only has eyes for Janna. What makes him so likeable is his patience, and he takes his time getting to know Janna and earning her trust.

This was a great story. It is told in both Janna and Richard’s POV throughout the chapters, not alternating chapters which I liked. I felt like the story wasn’t being repeated but told as it happened in each of their voices. The setting was beautiful as well. I also loved the quotes at the beginning of the book. They definitely tell you exactly what the book is about.

Bridesmaids is a funny story about friendship and love!

 

I knew right from the first chapter this was going to be a book I enjoyed. Jane is absolutely hilarious. It begins she says with a lie she told her best friend, Rachel. You see, Rachel, is getting married, and Jane isn’t really about marriage these days. Her ex-fiance dumped her by text while she was at her hen party. However, she adores Rachel, so she decides to keep her honest opinion to herself even though Jane isn’t Rachel’s fiance’s biggest fan AT ALL!!! This is the beginning of a book full of humor, love, friendship, and secrets…and maybe betrayal! It culminates in the best ending I have come across in quite a while.

 

Jane, Rachel, Sally, Beth, and Maddie have been friends since they were young. Life has taken them all in different directions except Jane and Rachel. They have remained close. Each woman is very different. Rachel is the sweetheart! She has the biggest heart, forgiving others for the wrongs they have done. Beth is a single mother who is hiding a GIGANTIC secret. She won’t divulge who the father is. Maddie thought she had her life planned out when she was young, but she discovers she doesn’t. Sally is the one who has to be in control, and by the way, Maddie and Sally are in love with the same man. He is married to one of them. As you can imagine, this is a book filled with drama, yet there is also quite a bit of laughter as well. Our heroine, Jane, is the one who holds these women together. She has a problem of her own…she may be falling for her flatmate. All your questions will be answered, and all their secrets will be revealed. Read on to find out how it all pans out!

 

Not only is this a romantic comedy, but it’s about friendship and how it changes over the years. These women knew each other like no one else when they were young, and now, each have their own secrets they are keeping from one another. Can they find that special bond between them again? This is a gem of a book about love, the changes life throws at you, and lasting friendship!!!!

I walk down the hall, and turn the corner into my room to find, to my shock and dismay, a wall of dripping wet muscle standing at the foot of my bed, toweling himself off.

I gasp, clutching my palm to the bare spot on my chest between the cups of my bra—thankfully, a t-shirt model that offers at least a little coverage. Hearing me, he turns, holding the towel just so that the most critical information is unavailable.

“Hey, you’re home!”

Noah takes three long strides toward me and leans forward to hug me. I put my palm out and it lands firmly in the middle of his perfect, muscular chest.

“You’re naked! You can’t hug me naked! It’s weird!” I exclaim.

“You’re naked too!” He argues, wrapping the towel around his waist and folding it into a not-very-secure-looking knot at the side.

I silently will the knot to fail and expose the only bit of Noah Adler that I’ve never seen, but sadly I still have not developed telekinetic powers, so nothing happens.

“There, better?” He asks, palms up.

He doesn’t give me a chance to answer and instead wraps thick, muscular forearms and defined biceps around me as he pulls me into his sculpted torso.

“I missed you!” He says, laying his cheek against the top of my head.

I wrap my arms around his midsection and look up as I give him a squeeze, carefully jutting my ass out so my belly doesn’t make contact with what I imagine is a sizable and delicious member beneath the towel he’s barely wearing.

“I missed you too. You should’ve come with us,” I say, closing my eyes as I do a happy dance on the inside because he came to see me after all.

“I’m not a Bailey. No Bailey family adventures for me,” he laughs. “But I am going to need you to tell me every detail, Ariel.”

I squirm away from him. “Well, that didn’t take long. I’m over missing you now.”
