New Beginnings at Wynter House (1)

New Beginnings at Wynter House (Wyntersleap series #2)

By Emily Harvale

About the Book:

The New Year brings unexpected revelations at Wynter House.

Neva Grey’s Christmas brought several surprises. Now a shocking secret has life-changing consequences for the Wynters, as the New Year brings revelations … and relatives to Wynter House.

It also brings Hazel Smart and Amelia Goodbody. And it’s not just Adam and Rafe Wynter who are pleased Hazel and Amelia have come to stay. Olivia Wynter will enjoy bossing nurse Hazel around and she also makes it clear Amelia – who is handling the marketing for Rafe’s new business venture – is far more suited to be her grandson’s girlfriend than Neva will ever be.

Whilst Amelia is ensconced at Wynter House, Neva is busy with her new hair and beauty salon in Merriment Bay. Perhaps she should enlist her niece, Sasha’s help because just when she thought she had found the love of her life, old secrets, ghosts from the past, and new arrivals might shatter all her dreams.

At least she has her best friend, Jo Duncan to lean on. But newly single, Jo is determined to have some fun, both at Wynter House and in Merriment Bay. And so is Adam Wynter.

This is book two in the Wyntersleap series but it can be read as a standalone. The Wyntersleap series is interlinked with the Merriment Bay series and several characters appear in both series.

Christie’s Review

5 STARS

New Beginnings at Wynter House is the second book in the Wyntersleap series, and the title couldn’t be more perfect. There are new beginnings and changes coming to Wynter House and to Adam and Rafe.

Neva has had a whirlwind of a holiday season, and it doesn’t look like things are going to get easier. A huge secret that will affect all of them is revealed, and Olivia, Adam and Rafe’s grandmother has had a mild heart attack which brings nurse Hazel onto the scene. Other guests have arrived too, Neva’s friend, Jo, and Amelia, who is in charge of Rafe’s new business as a marketing consultant. Don’t forget…Neva’s precocious niece, Sasha, is on hand. She always makes things more interesting and brings plenty of laughs. Laughter is needed at this time!

Even though the book is narrated by several voices, this is really Adam’s journey to romance. For those of us who know Adam, he doesn’t have a clue what a relationship is, but he is definitely enjoying the company of Jo, Hazel, and Amelia. I won’t be revealing the lucky lady who captures his heart. I can’t reveal that surprise. Just know that this is a charming, enjoyable read. Readers will also see some resolution to the secrets that were revealed earlier in both series.

I love how the author intertwined the Wyntersleap series and Merriment Bay series. She had begun to do this earlier in the series, but she brought it full circle in this one. I thought it was a stroke of genius on her part. As always, I can’t wait to read more in each of the series!!!
