Alyson Santos has done it again. Just when I think she can’t get any better, she proves me wrong! 

Falling North is about another client of Turner Artist Management. This band centers around two brothers, Xander and Matty. They are a unique sound, modern, alternative with a Latin twist. They are on the cusp of success but also on the cusp of imploding. The solution: hiring a marketing firm in the form of Lydia Carmichael to save them. Things get even more complicated as both brothers have feelings for the lovely Lydia. Yeah, things are about to get really interesting. 

Matty is the front man with loads of charisma, but the soul of the group is Xander. He not only carries the load of the band but also that of his brother. He has been Matty’s protector during their nightmare of a childhood. Xander has always put his little brother first and his scars are obvious, especially to Lydia.

Lydia has had issues with her parents but nothing close to what Xander and Matty have had to deal with. Her father is successful and powerful and has a business connection with the band. She doesn’t want to be given anything because of who her father is. She wants to earn everything on her own. She is fiercely independent and driven. Seeing her vulnerable side with Xander was beautiful. 

I could feel the pull between Xander and Lydia during their first meeting, even before they knew they would be involved in a professional sense. Lydia doesn’t want to wreck her career, and Xander knows Matty has feelings for Lydia. But we all know the old saying, “The heart what it wants.” 

It was breathtaking to see Lydia be that rock for Xander. I could almost visibly see him being able to take a breath and relax with her. He could be himself, not Matty’s protector, not the boy who wonders where his next meal was coming from, or if he would have a place to sleep that night. 

I cannot leave this review without mentioning the relationship between Xander and Matty. It was both endearing and heartbreaking. These two loved one another, but their relationship wasn’t equal. Xander was more a father than brother at times, and sometimes missed out on the joy of just being brothers. Matty adored his big brother, but he also yearned for Xander to let him just love him that way. Not only was this a love story between a man and woman but a love story between two brothers.

Santos creates one sexy yet sweet romance, but she adds so much more. Every synopsis of her books in this series just scratches the surface. She knows how to make me swoon, yet she tugs at my heartstrings as well. Her books are so much more than just rock stars and romance. Each word she writes is emotional, and she does a perfect job of combining both romance and emotion while shedding some light on serious issues!!!! I have only just discovered her, and I’m so glad I found out what a writing gem she is!!!!!

What a sweet, charming romance with great characters and a wonderful setting!!!

Ben and Bryony were destined to be together. They were friends as children, and as they grew, so did their relationship. Bryony thought they would settle into their lives in Castle Clare among family. But, Ben broke her heart when he left six years ago to travel the world. Over the years, she has tried to move on, but she finds it nearly impossible. Now, he is back and he wants her back. That is easier said than done as he doesn’t realize how deeply he hurt her, but he will soon find out just how much her heart was broken.

This was such a sweet romance!!!! I loved the flashbacks to their childhood. By reading the synopsis, I was expecting to blame Ben for all their heartache. However, the author revealed that there was actually a very good reason he left. Bryony hurt him as well by not even considering going with him. I enjoyed watching their journey back to one another, and it wasn’t easy.

The author also included a bit of a side story with her neighbor that I quite liked. It gave more insight into who Bryony was as a person. She could be stubborn, unforgiving, and at times selfish. Yet, deep down, she was caring and sweet. I LOVED the interaction with her big family, the Nightingale clan. The setting was just perfect!!!!

I highly recommend reading if you love sweet romances with wonderful characters. It also is a great pick if you are a lover of books and reading!!!! I felt like it was a love letter to books!!!! Wonderful, wonderful read!!!!!

What a sweet, uplifting romance!

 

Becky is a fixer and life coach for others, but all her advice and direction has done nothing for her own life. She has no love life to speak of. She is a single mother, who lives paycheck to paycheck, trying to make ends meet for her and her toddler son, Dylan. 

She now has the opportunity to really make a good profit and take a little bit of her worries away when Charlie Handren lands in her life. He is a local artist with loads of talent, but he is in a slump. He can’t seem to get his creative juices flowing. His daughter and his sister think Becky is the answer to everything. He can get his career jump started again and maybe even catch the woman of his dreams, Rachel Stone. If anyone can help him, it’s Becky.

It’s funny though…the more time they spend together, the more complicated their feelings become toward one another. Becky doesn’t know why the thought of Charlie with Rachel illicit such feelings of jealousy. Charlie begins wondering if Rachel really is the woman of his dreams, and why is Becky the one now occupying all of his thoughts?

I loved the slow-building romance of the book. It wasn’t rushed which allowed both of them to work on the issues in their own lives before rushing into a romance. Each one of them has been burned romantically, so trust is a huge roadblock for them. I enjoyed their friendship, and the way their families began to meld together. 

If sweet romances that tug at your heartstrings are your thing, give Art and Soul a try! You won’t regret it!!!!!

A Top Read in Dark Romance

OH MY GOODNESS…I have fallen in LOVE with this series. I was hooked on the first book, but this one was even better! I loved Delaney and Knox. This book is a testament that opposites really do attract!!!!

Delaney and Knox are worlds apart…literally. They come from two different backgrounds. Knox has to fight just to survive, and Delaney has been given pretty much anything she wants, but she isn’t your typical spoiled, rich girl. Knox has been hardened by life and doesn’t look much into the future, and Delaney has big plans when she graduates. The two shouldn’t even be in the same orbit, yet the two share people in their lives. Her twin sister is dating his friend, and her best friend’s boyfriend’s fate is intertwined with his. When the two meet, the fireworks explode, and not in a really good way. 

“Go to h*ll,” she spits, hatred burning in her eyes. I smirk, “Oh, Bambi, where do you think I came from?”

Yet, both of them feel something despite the fact that she finds him rude and arrogant. She thinks there is something more underneath that rough exterior. She wants to figure him out, much like a puzzle. She just needs to get past the steel walls he has surrounded himself with.

“He’s beautiful in the way that makes you stop and think. The way that demands your attention and doesn’t let you look away.” 

He knows she can see past his flaws and attitude, and he will do anything possible to keep her from seeing that. The best way he can do that is by pushing her away, but he can’t really seem to do that in a consistent way. As much as he insults her, she can’t stay away from him either. Each knows they pose a huge danger to one another…they could obliterate each other emotionally, but I so wanted them to take that chance on one another. 

OMG!!! The author, Kelsey Clayton, can build on sexual tension, and these two people have that. What started as lust turns into something really beautiful…these two bring out things in each other no one else could. He shows her how to live a little, and she shows him he is worth something. His darkness and her light are a perfect combination. 

As with the first book, it is HUGELY romantic! Yet, there are some surprises and suspense that makes an already great book pretty much perfect!!!!

Let me give you a warning, don’t plan on doing a thing until you finish the book! I started last night and didn’t come up for air until the last page was done! I can’t wait to see where the series is heading next.

Another winner from Nicola May!!!! This charming series has gotten better with every book!

Life is changing for Rosa. She really wants to start a family, and she feels like it is time to let her corner shop go. I could completely understand why this is such a difficult decision for her. It is a part of her heart. Plus, it has to be passed down to someone who really deserves it. What is she going to do? It doesn’t take long for news to travel, and boy does that bring people out of the woodwork? What are their motives? 

If making a life decision isn’t enough, she really, really wants to be a mother. Plus, some more secrets from her family surface too! I have really come to love Rosa throughout the series!!! 

It was wonderful catching up with all the characters that have become so close to my heart….Josh, Titch, little Theo. If you are looking for a sweet read that warms your heart, you can’t go wrong with this one!!!

I’m completely addicted to this series, and this one is my favorite so far….lots of surprises I wasn’t expecting….but good ones!!!!

I love that each one of the guys gets the chance to tell their story, and it’s now Grant’s turn. He is the quieter, older captain. Some would call him distant, stubborn, and grumpy. Boy, those people don’t have a clue what a man he is. He is drop dead gorgeous,and  he is also a giant. Yet underneath all of that is a gentle, loving soul just waiting to find its soulmate. He will find her in the most unexpected way. 

Ana is the girlfriend of one of the newest teammates. Let’s just say he isn’t the nicest person, and Grant witnesses that one night. He rescues her and gives her his number in case she ever needs him. He really doesn’t expect her to use it, but she does. She needs help in the most desperate way, and he comes riding in like a knight in shining armor…even if he isn’t the typical “hero.” 

The two become platonic roommates. He is just giving her a place to stay. I loved watching these two open up to one another, and they become such great friends. Yet, there is that crackle of electricity between them. One night the lines become blurred and nothing will be the same. 

Even though Grant isn’t sure a relationship is for him, I love that he is all in with Ana. She really doesn’t want to go straight into another relationship after her ex. I can’t blame her. Ryan touches on the serious subject of domestic abuse without delving too deeply. She definitely knows the fragile state victims are in. I liked that she gave Ana the time she needed to discover who she was. Yes, Grant was the hero, but so was Ana. She was able to put herself back together again. They were a fantastic couple!!!!

Ryan is an expert at combining sweet and sexy! She can also craft a story that touches on serious subjects yet give you moments that make you laugh! They are always swoonworthy and leave me with such a warm feeling in my heart and butterflies in my stomach!!!! With this one, she has some surprises in store for you too!!! Another winner!!!!!
