“Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.”

What a wonderful, uplifting story that proves it’s never too late to go after your dreams!

Emily is a woman who likes the finer things in life and really has the life a lot of people would want. She is a stewardess and travels to great locations and a great boyfriend. However, her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend breaks up with her. She waited for years for him to finally ask her to be his wife, and now he has left her. She decides to completely upend her life and pursue her dream of becoming an actress at 40. This is the beginning of a journey full of ups and downs! I loved taking this trip with Emily.

Emily is a woman I’m sure a lot of women can relate to, especially us women who are in our 40s. It is a time of change no matter whether you have children leaving the nest or as Emily, you have a major life change. I admired her tenacity. She was reaching for dreams not many women would even attempt. As the title suggest, it really is the start of something wonderful for her. She is a completely different woman by the end of the book!!!

I’m pretty picky when it comes to audiobooks as I really have to like the narrator. The author, herself, narrated this one…she did a fabulous job. She really brought Emily alive for me. She made me really connect with her.

If you are looking for a great book with a great narrator, you don’t want to miss this one!!!!

On a Tuesday

by Whitney G.
Publication Date: September 19, 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Purchase: Amazon | Audible | iTunes

We met on a Tuesday.
Became best friends, then lovers, on a Tuesday.
And everything fell apart on a Tuesday…

Charlotte Taylor has three automatic strikes in my book: 1) She hates me. She also claims that I’m a “domineering jerk with a huge, overbearing ego.” (I do have something huge. It’s not my ego, though.) 2) She takes our mandatory tutoring sessions way too seriously. 3) She’s sexy as hell…And a virgin.

At least, those were her strikes before our study sessions started lasting longer than they were supposed to. Until one innocent kiss became a hundred dirty ones, and until she became the first woman I ever fell hard for.

Our future together after graduation was supposed to be set:
Professional football for me. Law school for her.

But she left me at the end of the semester with no explanation, and then she completely disappeared from my life.

Until tonight.

We met on a Tuesday.
Became everything, then nothing, on a Tuesday.
And now it’s seven years later, on a Tuesday…

*This is a full length second chance romance, inspired by Adele’s “When We Were Young”

5 STARS

I absolutely LOVE second chance romances, and I fell in love with this one instantly…actually, when I read the synopsis. Charlotte and Grayson spoke to me then!!!

Charlotte and Grayson should never have crossed paths. Grayson represents everything Charlotte hates in a man…an over inflated ego and one who has a revolving group of women he has sex with. Grayson doesn’t date, so Charlotte definitely isn’t a girl Grayson would normally go for. However, destiny has other plans for these two, and Charlotte is Grayson’s new tutor who meets with him every Tuesday. Grayson is intrigued by her, and Charlotte can’t stand him. First, she tolerates him, Then, she allows him to be her friend. Finally, she falls in love with him, just like he falls in love with her. Unfortunately, something tears them apart. Really this is where the story begins….

The book is told after the breakup with flashbacks showing readers how they fell in love and how it went so wrong, which is a bit of a mystery!

I really enjoyed how the story unfolds. It isn’t insta-love, at least on Charlotte’s part. Grayson has a way of getting under her skin, and his charm is what I loved most about him. He really is a good guy. He had his fun, but he learned the hard way who he could trust and who he couldn’t. Charlotte is intelligent and beautiful, and is the perfect girl for Grayson. She definitely doesn’t let him get away with things just because of his popularity on campus.

Part of what makes audio books so great is when narrators bring the story alive. However, I’m pretty picky when it comes to narrators. I have to say both Erin Mallon and Joseph Discher did a phenomenal job of telling this couple’s story.  They each had me engrossed in Charlotte and Grayson’s story from the beginning.

The combination of a great book, great characters, and great narrators made this a 5 Star listen for me.

I should’ve never agreed to this arrangement…

Thirty days ago, my boss–Mr. Wolf of Wall Street, came to me with an offer I couldn’t refuse: Sign my name on the dotted line and pretend to be his fiancée for one month. If I agreed, he would let me out of my employment contract with a “very generous” severance package.

The rules were pretty simple: No intimate kissing, no actual sex. Just pretend to love each other for the press, even though I’ve secretly wanted to knock that sexy smirk off his face since the first day we met.

I definitely didn’t need to think twice about this. I signed my name and started counting down the seconds to when I would never have to deal with his special brand of ass-holery again.

I only made it to one minute…

We argued the entire four-hour flight to his hometown, failed to make a convincing impression with the welcoming press, and right when I was about to knock that arrogant look off his face in real life? He purposely dropped his bath towel in front of me, distracting me with his nine-inch cock to “show me who the bigger person was” in our relationship. Then he gave me his trademark smirk once again and asked if I wanted to consummate our marriage.

Tragically, this is only day one.
We still have 29 more days to go…
