Baby Mine (Hunter & Lennon: The Roommate Duet Series) by Kennedy Fox Review Blast

23 Apr

I saw her first.

Blonde. Gorgeous. Feisty.

I was smitten. But it didn’t matter because she chose him and
he was my best friend and roommate. I’d never be able to compete with that, so
I pushed her away instead. It was easy when she lived hours away, and I didn’t
have to see her every day, but then she moved in with us.

Now, I’m screwed.

To her singing in the shower every morning,
dancing in the kitchen while she makes coffee, and doing yoga in our living
room, I can’t stop thinking about her in all the wrong ways. She’s not mine and
never will be, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to push her against a wall
and claim her mouth.

She’s constantly on me for making messes,
bringing chicks home every weekend, and being a smartass when their PDA gets on
my nerves. Considering neither of them know how I feel, it’s not fair for the
way I act toward them. I should move out so I can get over her for good;
however, the selfish part of me can’t let go.

But then the unthinkable happens…

When my best friend dies in a motorcycle
accident, the two of us are left to grieve our loss together. Instead of
pushing her away, I pull her closer.

Just as we come to terms with our new reality,
she finds out she’s pregnant with his baby.

And I’m left to make the hardest decision of my
life…

Top 10 Read of 2019

JUST WOW!!!! Baby Mine by Kennedy Fox is a slow-burn, angsty, beautiful, and emotional love story done PERFECTLY!!!!! It’s one of my all-time favorite reads and a top 10 read of 2019 for me.

Lennon turned Hunter’s world upside down the moment he laid eyes on her from across a bar. It should have been the start of something wonderful, but it wasn’t. Instead, Lennon ended up with his best friend, Brandon. It was easy for him when she lived hours away, but now he has to see her every day because she is their new roommate. Poor Hunter used spite to push his feelings away. To say there is tension in the apartment would be an understatement. However, something happens that completely changes the way he treats Lennon, and it will change the course of their relationship.

Hunter is so complicated. I love how the writers wrote his character. Lennon sees him as a jerk who has a revolving door of women in his bedroom, yet we as readers, see exactly who he is. A man who is trying to protect his heart and be the friend he needs to be to Brandon. Part of me was so mad at him with the way he treated her, yet I could understand. Sometimes, his antics even brought a smile to my face. I couldn’t help but fall in love with him myself…especially when tragedy strikes. His true nature is then revealed. He is the biggest support for Lennon, and everything he does, he does for her. Be still my heart…..

Lennon was also a great character. Yeah, I think she needed to be with Hunter in the beginning, but as more was revealed in her relationship with Brandon, I also understood why she gravitated toward him. He was definitely the safer bet, but he was also a good man who adored her. She loved him with her whole heart as well. Lennon still has some maturing to do in regards to her relationship with her parents, and I am sure that will be addressed in Book 2.

I can’t leave this review without saying something about Brandon. As the title suggests, this is a love story about Hunter and Lennon. Thank you, Kennedy Fox, for not making Brandon an afterthought as just a part of the plot to bring  Hunter and Lennon together. He really is an integral part of this story, and you made that evident!

As I wrote earlier, this is a slow-burn romance. Their story wasn’t rushed, and it couldn’t be. In addition, the writers dealt with grief in such a realistic and raw way…breaking my heart in the process. However, that is when I know a writer has done their job…they make me feel the emotions. These ladies definitely did that!!! The next book is one of the most anticipated sequels I have been looking forward to in a long time!!!!

Kiss Me Stupid by Gia Riley Review Tour

18 Mar

Kiss Me, Stupid, an all-new standalone romance by Gia Riley is NOW LIVE!

Thirty-five thousand feet in the air, I impulsively planted my lips on a stranger.

To say it was out of character was the understatement of the century.

But I wasn’t worried.

It’s not like I’d ever see him again.

Or so I thought.

When I least expected it, there he was. And he looked so much better than I remembered.

It was only supposed to be one kiss—a drunken lip-lock to ring in a new year.

But sometimes, history repeats itself.

Chandler has finally made her dream come true, dancing in a Broadway show. Now she just has to make the trip to New York even though she is a bit anxious about flying. Imagine her surprise when she gets a seat next to singer, Wirth Sutherland. She got to see him in person at one of his shows a few days ago and now she gets to share the same space for the next few hours.
Wirth moved to Nashville to make his dreams of becoming a professional singer a reality. Now that his life has crashed and burned, he has to return to his old life in New York. But now that he is sitting next to a beautiful woman on the flight back on New Year’s Eve, maybe things are starting to look up.
The attraction between Wirth and Chandler is instant and they share a kiss at midnight. Both realize it isn’t the right time to start up something new but fate may have other ideas…
I loved Wirth and Chandler!! I loved the banter between Wirth and Chandler and how he embraces her quirkiness. Very cute story! I am a huge fan of Gia Riley’s and was not disappointed in this story. The way that Gia writes a story, it sucks me in and I feel like I’m actually in the story and experiencing every high and low right along with the characters. Gia will always be an immediate one-click author for me!

Tinsel (Lark Cove Series) by Devney Perry Review Blast

19 Feb

Sofia Kendrick has always cherished her tiara. As the youngest daughter of a wealthy New York family, she’s lived the life of an American princess. But after two scandalous divorces and a breakup smear her name across the society rags, the shine from her crown has dulled. People call her superficial, even gaudy.

She’s nothing more than tinsel.

Desperate for escape and starving for peace, Sofia heads to Montana for a holiday weekend with her brother. But she doesn’t get the relaxing vacation she planned. Instead, she’s put to work in a bar alongside Dakota Magee—a man who does not want her help. A man who is set on teaching her a few lessons about real life and hard work. But Sofia has a couple of life lessons of her own to teach. Like how to fall in love.

A Top Read of 2019

All I can say is Devney Perry has blown me away yet again. I always say, “This book is my favorite of the series.” So….I’m saying it again. Sofia and Dakota are her most complex characters so far!

Sofia really is “an enigma.” This is what Dakota says, and he is absolutely correct. When I first met her, I wasn’t impressed, much like Dakota wasn’t. However, again like Dakota, it didn’t take me long to see that there was so much more to her than her beauty and superficiality. She appears to be a spoiled, rich princess who is used to getting her own way. Despite her wealth and advantages, she really is a lonely woman who just hasn’t found her purpose in life. When she goes to Montana to find some peace, her life will change. Dakota is a man unlike any man she has ever met. Her life will also take some direction with her family’s help and Dakota’s help.

Dakota couldn’t be more different than Sofia. He didn’t grow up with the advantages that Sofia did. He has worked hard to realize his dreams, and he has a goal in mind, unlike her. Of course, he is gorgeous, but he is also very intelligent, funny, when you get to know him, tenacious, and very loyal to those he loves.

These two are complete opposites, but their pull towards one another is undeniable. What starts out as something casual soon turns into something so much more. Perry always knows how to balance steam and emotion perfectly. Their romance made me swoon, but the differences and obstacles they face in their journey to HEA are very real. Because of that, the romance is told over several months with many bumps along the way. However, they really needed to realize who they were themselves before they could be a couple. I have never seen a character grow as much as Sofia did. She was not the same woman she was at the beginning of the book. I came to love and respect her so much.

One of the things I love about Perry’s books is that I get to see characters from previous books. It’s like catching up with old friends without compromising the story of the new characters. As always, her epilogues are EPIC!!!

Perry never ceases to amaze me. She has grabs ahold of my heartstrings and makes me fall in love with her storytelling and her characters, and this book is no different. It is an all-time favorite for me and a top read of 2019! As always, I will be waiting impatiently for her next novel.

Jock Rule by Sara Ney (JOCK HARD #2) by Sara Ney Review Tour

8 Dec

Kip Carmichael is no pretty boy.

He’s a rough. Dirty. Giant. Hair so unruly, and a beard so thick, his friends on the team call him Sasquatch.

The first time Sasquatch lays eyes on Theodora “Teddy” Johnson across the keg at a party one night on Jock Row, she’d been relegated to the sidelines by her jock hungry “friends.”

Week-after-week, he watches beautiful but bashful Teddy getting overshadowed, and overlooked. Sasquatch finally broad shoulders his way through the crowd, offering to to be her hairy godmother. But the minute their eyes meet? He’s a goner.

Teaching her the RULES for winning a jock will be the easy part. Not falling in love with her is going to be a losing game.

A Top Read in Romantic Comedy

Sara Ney has given her readers another sweet, sexy, and funny romance!!!!

Kip and Teddy couldn’t be more opposite from one another. He tends to stand out in a crowd. He is well over 6 feet tall and his beard makes him look like Sasquatch. Teddy is a sweet girl, and she tends to not stand out like her friends whose mission in life is to snag a jock. As soon as Kip sees her, he knows she is something special and doesn’t belong at these “jock” parties. After weeks of watching her, he approaches, and he is quite surprised she isn’t intimidated by him or his size. The two strike up an unlikely friendship with him offering to be her “hairy godmother” and help her feel comfortable in her own skin. Neither one ever realize how complicated this friendship is about to become…..

Ney has a way of pulling me in heart and soul into her books. This one is no different. I was completely immersed in Kip and Teddy’s story. They were both characters that were unique and very likeable. Kip is somewhat like the beast in Beauty and the Beast. Although, he isn’t unattractive like the beast. However, it’s his demeanor that scares people off. He doesn’t have any friends except for his sister and now, Teddy. I could understand why he shunned people, and I was so glad that he knew pretty much from the beginning that Teddy was worthy of his trust.

Of course, Teddy is somewhat like Beauty even though people overlook her beauty, except Kip. He has an uncanny ability to see through people’s pretensions and see them for who they are. He instantly knows Teddy is a good person. She might seem a bit shy, but she doesn’t have a problem not letting Kip get away with his “stuff.” She is independent, smart, and she sees past all of Kip’s defensiveness, wearing down his resistance day by day, even if she doesn’t realize it.

One of my favorite things in the book was the banter between these two. They are pretty funny together, and once the sexual tension is introduced….whoa the butterflies. Ney really knows how to use that to her advantage, and she is an expert at it. She seems to know exactly when her characters need to finally give in. That is just one of her many talents as a writer!

I have only discovered Sara Ney this year, and my only disappointment is I hadn’t discovered her sooner. Not only do I love the stories she spins and the unforgettable characters, but I really like her style of writing. She never overuses angst. In the books I have read, there really isn’t a lot of that. They are about finding your soulmate and falling in love! If you haven’t read anything by her, I highly recommend you try one of her books. If you are like me, you will find her becoming one of your very favorite authors!!!!

The Heartless Boyfriend is the perfect combination of sexy and sweet made even better by a great storyline and wonderful characters!!!!

This book is the second one in the series. Don’t worry…it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the first book, although, it’s now on my Kindle TBR list. I found the book easy to follow even though I didn’t have the background of the previous book.

Will and Delilah are complete opposites, yet they find themselves at a crossroads in their lives dealing with the same issue…proving themselves to their families, even if it is under different circumstances. Life has thrown them a curveball, but it will change their lives forever.

Will is an athlete just on the cusp of realizing his dream of possibly joining the Olympic team. However, when a sweet little girl, Ruby, enters his life, it could possibly change everything. Will prides himself on self-discipline. With the arrival of Ruby, that upends life as he knows it. She has no concept of training schedules. She just misses his mother. Life changes even more when Delilah enters his life. She is in town for a cooking competition. She makes him feel things he has never felt. Yet, he is ruled by his mind not his heart, but these two females may just crack his cold heart.

Delilah has always dreamed of opening her own family restaurant. Yet, those dreams are crushed when she receives a crushing food review. Her family has lost faith in her. She travels thousands of miles away to win a cooking competition. This is her only hope of getting the money she needs to return back home and open her very own restaurant. Unlike Will, she is mostly ruled by her heart. She falls in love with little Ruby instantly. As she spends more time with Will, she begins to fall for him too. Her road to success and love will be mired with many obstacles. I just kept my fingers crossed that Will would finally open his eyes!

The book is told in the third person but with a dual POV. That allowed me to see more deeply who both characters were. Both of them have always had dreams they have worked hard to achieve, but is it really for themselves or for others? Delilah wants to prove herself to her family, and Will wants to make his mother really “see him” and finally open her heart to him. As they will discover,  they each have to love themselves and not try to do things to make others love them.

As you can see, I loved the characters. Ruby completely melted my heart, and she was a driving force in the book. She had as much to do with Will’s softening heart as Delilah did. To me, she was the anchor to the story. The storyline was very well thought out as well. The romance was sort of a slow burn even though it happened over a short period of time. Not many writers could pull that off, but Kelly certainly did. This was a romance packed with emotion!!!

I am a new reader to Erika Kelly and this series, and to say that I was impressed would be an understatement!!! She definitely has a new fan in me!!!!

Excerpt

As the warm water rushed over her soapy hands, Delilah thought about her immediate reaction to Will’s question about whether she’d leave if her family gave her the restaurant back, the way her heart had seized. It would mean the world to have them believe in her enough to support her franchise.

At the same time, though, she’d had a stab of fear. She didn’t want to leave Will and his sister, the competition, and this sprawling ranch filled with ice-cold creeks and wild animals, cabins, trails, and teal-colored lakes.

These feelings for Will…she couldn’t explain it. He wasn’t her type, and yet she wanted to spend every damn minute with him. And that kiss in the hydroponic farm?

She’d never had a kiss like that. Something so electric, so erotic. It had uncorked this desperate need for more. It wasn’t just exciting to kiss in the hallway outside the tasting kitchen…it had called on something deep, primal. Him.

Mine.

She’d had this crazy feeling like, if she didn’t get closer to him, meld with him, she would combust.

Shutting off the faucet, she reached for a clean dish towel.

No question, Will was an intimidating man. His energy bristled with purpose, and he didn’t waste a single moment, word, or calorie. Everywhere he went, people stopped and watched him. It was almost comical when someone froze in the middle of licking an ice cream cone to take him in. Women eyed him with want and possession; men eyed him with awe and envy.

But nobody saw those moments when he held his sister and agonized over whether he was doing right by her. No one saw him curled up in her bed reading books, as she bounced Squawk in her lap.

And the way he looks at me? That carnal hunger—the promise of what he’d do to her body if they were alone—Glory be—it sent a direct hit to her heart, making her giddy.

She liked him, for sure. But that kiss made her realize she more than liked him.

God, she had to have him. Just had to.

Love Sincerely Yours by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn Review Tour

11 Oct

Dear Mister…**strike out** no, too formal.

Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,

Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.

I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.

For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.

And as long as we’re being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.

Love,

Sincerely,

Yours.

A Top Read in Romantic Comedy

Meghan Quinn and Sara Ney are two of my favorite authors, so I was incredibly excited that they were writing a book together. They surpassed all of my expectations!!!

Not only did this writing duo excite me, but I really liked the premise of the story when I read the synopsis! It was something a bit different, and I loved the secret admirer angle.

Peyton has always had a crush on her boss Rome even if he is a jerk!!! Once you begin reading, you will understand what a jerk he really was. However, Peyton has always seen underneath his tough exterior, and believe me, that is a huge accomplishment. One drunken night, she drunk emails him telling him exactly how she feels. Thankfully, she has a genius BFF who works in IT who can keep her identity secret. Of course, Rome being who he is, is infuriated…someone breaking the rules, how dare they?  Underneath that defense mechanism, he is somewhat intrigued, and a flirty friendship develops between them online. While at work, Rome becomes more curious about Peyton. She is talented, and she doesn’t back down from him around the office.

The banter between these two were hilarious, sexy, and very witty. The chemistry was sizzling, and the writers know how to build the tension between them while doing a great job of making the readers want more!!!! I knew from the beginning I would love Peyton, who couldn’t? Rome was a different story. I, like her friends, at the beginning had no clue what she saw in him. As I got to know Rome, I came to admire him. He is tenacious and has determination. He worked hard to build his company, and I came to respect that. As more of his less serious side was revealed, I then came to love him as well. Rome needed someone in his life like Peyton. She challenged him in ways he couldn’t imagine!

I have to love and admire both of these incredibly talented writers. They create fantastic stories and unforgettable characters as individual authors. But, the two of them together are simple magical!!!!!

I open the company messenger app on my phone and scroll through the executive names, knowing full well I’m about to break a policy. It’s the company’s phone, and the company’s app, and I’m about to use it for personal use. To flirt.

With my boss.

I close my eyes, find his name—next to it is a little, green dot, which means. . .

He’s on the app.

I’ve never talked to him live before so this is a huge step, but then again, it might be more fun to get his initial reactions to my comments.

Debating it for all but two seconds, I type out a message to him, making sure I’m signed on under my LSY persona.

HandsRomingMyBody: Hey you.

My text turns into a new message on the app and I wait on bated breath to see if he will respond. Nerves prickle up my spine, my fingers feeling numb, my mind playing mutiny with my heart just as little dots appear letting me know he’s typing.

Oh God, I don’t think I’ve been more excited.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Faux Pas by Natasha Madison Review Tour with Excerpt

3 Oct

Meghan
Five days in Paris sounded like a great idea for three friends. Especially when amazing wine was in play.

It didn’t matter that our rented “apartment” only had one bed, and barely enough space to breathe, we were in Paris and our motto was c’est la vie.

Nothing would faze us, not even the rude waiter at the first restaurant we went to, or the insanely hot manger who was insulted when a bottle of wine was returned.

Nothing could bring me down or knock me off my path to the best vacation of my life.

Alex

I had six days in Paris and then I’d go back to my wine vineyard. It was smooth sailing, until three “americans” came into the restaurant and returned my newest full bodied, savory creation.

I ignored her until she stormed out of the restaurant looking for a taxi at one in the morning. I couldn’t leave her wandering around the streets of Paris, could I?

I’d give her a ride, make sure she was safe, and my duty would be done. Except, was it?

Something about her pulled me.

This could be a vacation fling. After all, there is no real reason for her to know my interesting secret.

I’m France’s most eligible bachelor.

This faux pair is almost a faux pas…

Looking for a romance to make you swoon? Then look no further than Faux Pas by Natasha Madison.

Meghan and her friends book a dream trip to Paris. It was supposed to be fun, enjoying the wonderful food and taking in the beautiful sites. Love definitely wasn’t on the itinerary, but one faux pas at a restaurant, and Meghan’s life is about to change forever.

Alex is in Paris checking in on his family’s restaurants and trying to keep a low profile. The beautiful redhead who complains about a bottle of wine gets under in skin, in more ways than one. He can’t get her out of his mind even though he knows it isn’t a good idea. This, my fellow readers, is the beginning of a whirlwind, fairytale romance.

The connection between the two of them is instant, and they do fall in love pretty quickly. But, isn’t this why we love books like this…they’re magical and take you away from real life for just a bit. Paris is the city of love. And….there isn’t too much angst either!

The romance was both sweet and very steamy. While I loved that, I really felt like Natasha Madison was my tour guide through the beautiful streets of Paris. She painted such a clear, detailed picture from some of the most famous sites to the cafes, and oh my goodness, the food she described. I felt like I was a part of this great group of friends enjoying the city with them.

I’ve been a fan of Madison’s, so I’m very happy when she has a new release. This book was no exception. It’s a love story for all of us romantics at heart while celebrating family and friends.

EXCERPT

He makes his way through the tables, straight to ours. “quel est le problème?” What is the problem, his voice comes out gruff, the smell of his musk hitting my nose.

“Le vin n’est pas bon,” The wine isn’t good, I start saying, and I look at his eyes that look almost black. I’m not sure if it’s his natural color, or if the restaurant is dimmer now than before, or maybe it’s just his form blocking the lights. “il a un goût de vinaigre.” It tastes like vinegar, and I’m not sure it was the right thing to say or not. He stares at me, not saying a word. “Taste it.” I give up on my French and switch to English. “You’ll see.”

I’m waiting for him to say something back, but he doesn’t. Instead, he turns around and walks away from the table, going into the back. “What the fuck just happened?” Diana says in a whisper. We all turn to see where he went, checking to see if he is going to storm back in.

“She insulted his wine,” Kate says, leaning in and speaking softly.

I throw my hands in the air. “It was shit,” I say louder than I wanted to. “You guys said it yourself.” Looking around, I see that a couple of the tables are looking at us, but the majority of the tables are deep in their own conversations and not paying attention.

We don’t say anything else when we see the waiter come back with a new bottle in one hand and a new wine glass in the other. He uncorks the wine, then pours a touch in and waits for me to taste it. I don’t say anything to him; I just nod my head, and he puts the bottle in the middle of the table. “I guess I will pour the wine,” Kate says, picking up the bottle and pouring it in everyone’s glass. I pick up the glass of wine and bring it to my lips. The cold glass is resting on my lips when I feel someone staring at me. I look down and take a sip, then look around, and I guess it’s just me because no one is looking in my direction.

By the time we finish dinner, we’ve drunk two more bottles. and everyone is laughing and having a great time. The food was amazing. “We need a taxi,” I say. Getting up, I grab my jacket, shrugging it on.

“I think we can walk to the corner that way,” Diana says, pointing at the sky, “and flag one down.”

“If we go that way,” Kate says, pointing at the sky, “we need to call NASA.” We all laugh out loud while the waiter comes to take the bill from us.

“Merci.” We smile at him as he walks away, still not saying a word.

“Yes, thank you for my glass of ice cubes that you only brought me one of even though I asked for seven,” Kate says, laughing while trying to whisper. “And thank you for pouring our wine.”

“Okay, let’s go,” I say, walking to the front door.

“I’m going to ask him for a taxi,” Kate says, going to the waiter who stands at the hostess counter and asking him for a cab.

I watch from the front door as Diana stands behind her while I look in my bag and pull out my lip gloss.

“Pardon.” I hear Kate say loudly, and I look up.

“Vous pensez qu’après tout ce que vous avez fait ce soir vous méritez que je vous appelle un taxi ?” I stand here with my mouth open in shock when he answered her. Do you think after everything you did to me tonight that you deserve that I call you a taxi?

Kate starts. “What did I do? Expect you to do your job?” she says, and Diana grabs her arm, pulling her to the front door.

“Did he just say …?” I ask her when we are standing outside in front of the restaurant, the wind blowing my hair in front of my face. I turn my head, making it fly back the other way.

“So it’s safe to say,” Diana starts with a laugh, “we aren’t coming back to this restaurant.”

“Take a picture of it, and tomorrow we can go on Yelp and leave a bad review,” Kate says, grabbing her phone from her pocket.

“Let’s just go,” I say, and the three of us look around at the desolate street.

“What time is it?” I ask and take out my phone. “Shit, it’s one a.m.”

“Yeah,” Diana says. We look right down the dark street and see some traffic coming from up ahead. “We should walk to that street and flag down a taxi.”

We all nod and start walking with Kate in the middle. “He was such an ass,” Kate says, “and the boss or manager was an even bigger ass.”
“Seriously,” I say, turning to them. “It’s like it was my fault his wine was shit,” I say, and then we all stop when a white four-door Audi stops next to us, surprising us.

“Get in.” The voice sounds familiar, but the street is so dark it doesn’t help. I lean in a bit to see his face, and I’m shocked when I see it’s the manager from the restaurant.

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
