~ REVIEW: Hollywood Princess by Dana Aynn Levin ~

81pOcx+NgPL._SL1500_SynopsisElizabeth Jacobs is trading in her personal chef for a meal plan, her Chanel bag for a backpack, and an estate for a dormroom. Growing up in the Hollywood spotlight, her life has been an enviable one – famous parents, entrée to everything, and getting whatever she wants. Now Elizabeth just wants to escape, to leave behind the glamour and glitz of her childhood, and enter the real world, one where no one knows her name.

Danny Newman is the hottest guy in Hollywood. As the son of an A-list director, the world belongs to Danny. Fast cars, fast women, fast times – Danny’s got all of these and more. But maybe what the complicated college student really wants isn’t any of this.

The journey begins in Hollywood Princess, when childhood friends Elizabeth and Danny are reunited at the start of freshman year of college. The old spark between them is rekindled and Elizabeth’s childhood crush is reignited. However, Danny isn’t ready to shed his Hollywood bad boy image for her. Can Elizabeth love Danny and pursue her dreams, or will his reckless behavior sabotage not only their relationship, but her desire to lead a normal life?

daniell review  3 and a half stars18 year old Elizabeth Jacobs is off to college in upstate New York, a world away from Hollywood where she grew up in her actress mother’s shadow. She is ready to make new friends and experience new things. Little does she know that the boy she grew up with and crushed on, has chosen to attend Donnelly College as well.

Elizabeth and Danny were inseparable as young children until Danny was sent to boarding school for high school but he never saw Elizabeth as anything more than a friend…until now.  Elizabeth has outgrown her awkward adolescent frizzy-haired stage and is now gorgeous enough to catch playboy Danny’s eye.  Elizabeth has never gotten over her crush on Danny but doesn’t want to be just one of the many girls he’s with, she wants to be the only one.
Will Elizabeth finally get the relationship she has always wanted with Danny? Or will he decide he is too young to be tied down to just one girl?
I really liked the first part of this book and loved Elizabeth and Danny. However, there was a bit too much cheating for me. I did enjoy the story being told from both POV and even though Danny was a serial cheater, he did have some redeeming qualities. This is the 1st book in the series, but it does not end with a big cliffhanger.

Abou the authorBorn and raised in New York City, I was always a California girl at heart, obsessed with sports cars in a town with no parking. I couldn’t wait to leave, so after graduating from Vassar College where I studied Psychology and Economics, I headed to Los Angeles, the land of sunshine, oranges, and movie making. Then, after a brief stint in Washington, D.C., to earn my MBA, I headed back to the beach, and became a film production accountant, working on films you’ve probably never heard of. I wrote my first novel at the age of six, and didn’t write another until Hollywood Princess. I’m a news junkie, and a baseball addict, who loves a good love story. Who doesn’t?Now living in Connecticut, I’m married to a New York-based film producer. We have three children; two are not yet old enough to read Hollywood Princess, though one keeps trying to peek.

Currently, I’m hard at work on completing the second installment in the Hollywood Princess series.
