I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! What drew me in was the cover, and they synopsis, and I wasn’t disappointed when I read the story.

The story starts off with you getting introduced to Finn. He is the alpha of his pack, and is determined to protect it. He has been working hard at keeping his pack safe ever since he defeated his uncle a few years back. Something he probably should have done a lot sooner, then he wouldn’t have lost his one true love Lyra. His whole world gets turned upside down though when Lyra comes to him after 17 years of no word from her and asks for his help. Her daughter has been taken and she needs him to get her back safely. Finn still cares deeply for her and will do anything to help get Lyra’s daughter back, but what he finds out later may change his mind about everything.

After 17 years, Lyra still feels the pull to Finn that she felt back then, and she isn’t sure if she likes it. Finn is still unbelievably gorgeous and has definitely got a darker edge to him than he did back then, but that just draws her to him more.  She feels guilty for asking for Finn’s help to find her daughter without telling him the truth, but she doesn’t see any other way. She’ll do anything to get her daughter back safely, and that includes keeping this huge secret from Finn.

Will they be able to put their past aside and find Vega as quickly as possible. They only have a limited time before all hell breaks loose, literally.

Finn and Lyra have many obstacles and dangers to deal with before they can save Vega, and one of them is the chemistry that still ignites between them. While trying to keep a distance from each other, they still both feel the pull that is impossible to ignore. The only thing is though, will they both be able to forget the betrayal and finally give into something so powerful? Or will they go their separate ways once Vega is safe?

This was a fantastic book that had a little bit of all the paranormal in one great story. Katie does such a fantastic job with keeping the reader interested in the story and the characters romance, without having the steamy scenes take over the story.  This was an entertaining quick read that I would recommend to any of my friends that are into paranormal books.

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book made me wonder why I haven’t been reading more paranormal books. I miss my werewolves now because of this book (well mostly because of Riley).

The book starts off with Paige when she was a little girl and how she ran off into the woods to avoid listening to her parents fighting. While in the woods, she meets a white “puppy” and becomes its friend. Little does she know, this “puppy” is actually Riley who instantly falls for Paige.  But Paige ends up having to leave, and they don’t see each other for another 13 years.

Paige has become an important member at Elle. She also has a fantastic boyfriend (so she thinks) and just received a promotion. Her life totally changes though when she catches this wonderful boyfriend cheating on her (I mean, she had to see it coming) and then her dad passes away from a heart attack. After hearing that her dad left her the cabin they stayed at while she was a kid, she decides to go on a vacation; she needs a little time to think things through. That’s when Riley comes in.

I will be honest, I felt more connected to Riley in this book, than I did with Paige. She was pretty whiney in parts of the book and it made me frustrated. You have Riley who is this drop dead gorgeous man who will do anything for her. He will kill for her, he would die for her, and all she can think about is her job in New York. She eventually gets her head out of her ass though and decides she wants to be with Riley, and that’s when things start to get intense. I don’t know what to say without giving more of the book away so I’m just going to leave it at that.

After everything that Paige and Riley have to go through, will they be able to have their happily ever after? Will they be able to survive everything that gets thrown into their path?

This was a pretty good book, and I would be interested to see what else comes from April Bostic. She made me realized I miss my Alpha Men a lot. Riley Gray has definitely been added to that list  🙂

I received an ARC copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved how well Lacey Silks writes a story and builds her characters. She does such a fantastic job of giving you some background, without getting into to much detail to where you get turned of from what’s going on. Also the steamy scenes she writes, wow those are HOT!

Allie Green has been trying to find away to get rid of a man that has ruined both her and her mother’s lives. Ever since then, Allie has been doing what she can to keep her mother safe, and become the best cop she could be. She’s been trying to find a way to destroy the man who ruined their lives, and things start to fall into place when Tristan Cross walks into her life.

Tristan has offered her a job, and a promise that the one person who has endangered her mother’s safety for years will be taken care of. The only catch, she has to go under cover on a dangerous mission in a sex-trafficking sting. Of course she accepts the job, not only to ensure the safety of her mother, but she also has this undeniable need to be close to Cross. There is so much chemistry between them; you can almost feel it yourself.

While undercover, Allie does things she never thought she’d have to do, and while trying to do her job, she is seriously injured. While recovering, she gets some life changing news and isn’t sure how the one person she cares for most is going to take it. Before she gets a chance to tell them, she is thrown a curve ball.

This book ends with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what happens next in Layers Peeled! I absolutely loved this book and would definitely recommend this to my friends. I will be looking forward to more books by Lacey Silks in the future.

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

Seductive Secrecy is book 2 in the Shadow Series. Charlie is living with her love, Cameron, after her escape from “The Mansion.” She has immersed herself in her art and is becoming quite successful. In addition, she is beginning to forge a relationship with her father even though he had to flee the country after helping take down the horror of “The Mansion.” Despite her freedom from the darkness of her past, she is still fighting the dark emotional hold her time working at “The Mansion” has on her. Cameron does what he can to help her forgive herself and live her life. They seem to be making a better life for each other, but the past comes back and deals them an devastating blow. It will test the love and trust they have tried so hard to build together.

This series is completely different from anything I have ever read before. At times, it was quite difficult to read. My heart ached for Charlie. I don’t know how she endured the things that she did. I loved Cameron. He wasn’t only incredibly hot and sexy, but he had a heart of gold. He loved Charlie unconditionally and never judged her for her past decisions; he loved her despite them. The following lines sum up their love quite nicely…I think. “Cameron…my dawn. He had broken through the darkness-my darkness–and pulled me from its depths. I wasn’t necessarily standing under the sun yet, or even beneath a mostly-clear sky strewn with the clouds, but I was here and he was one of the reasons for that.” It gave me hope that Charlie might find happiness at last.

Of course, Seductive Secrecy had lots of STEAMY SEX! I don’t think I will think of painting in the same way again after their session in the studio!!! WOW!!! There was also a twist at the end that I didn’t see coming. However, my favorite thing about this book is the author’s talent for showing me the healing power of art. It was a beautifully written book about the incredible power that love has to heal even the most damaged of human beings.

michele review 3 and a half stars

I received and ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute story about a hot shot hockey player with a less then pleasant past who finds his soul mate in a rich psychology college student. Though they both have had some bad things happen to them in the past (Kian more so than Taylor) they both find solace in each other and feel that everything will be ok, just as long as they are together.

You first meet Kian. He’s this hot shot hockey player that has been loving and leaving woman since he was a teenager. He has never had a serious relationship with a woman EVER, and never has wanted one either, but that all changes when he sees Taylor, reading a book in a bar. Who in their right mind comes to a bar and reads a book? This intrigues Kian and he has to know more about this girl, what is her deal? Why does he feel so drawn to her?

Then there is Taylor, she has been going through school studying all the time so that she can make it through the psychology department and do something she truly loves. She has no time for dating or boys and she despises athletes, especially hockey players. This all stemming from things that happened to her in the past. Boy, does it shock her when she has this instant attraction to Kian, the ultimate athlete, and wouldn’t you know it, a hockey player.

Kian’s past comes out and flaunts itself in Taylor’s face, and Taylor wants Kian to know what happened to her before they go any further. Will they be able to make it through all the issues that surround them, or will they quit before they start and be miserable.

This book ends with a little cliffhanger, making you want to know what is going to happen next. I enjoyed the book, and plan on see what happens next with Kian and Taylor. I’m hoping they get their happily ever after.

~ SERIES REVIEW: North and South Volumes 1,2,3 By Brenna Chase ~

North-South1

I received an ARC copy in exchange for and honest review.
Brenna Chase does a fantastic job of mixing up some spice in a classic, without ruining the book. The erotic scenes that Brenna adds to the story make it feel livelier I think.

With out giving too much away, you start off with meeting Margaret, and all the changes she has to experience in such a short amount of time. I feel that Margaret isn’t fully understood in the story, and that draws me to her, to figure out more about her. She is a strong woman who will put on a facade to make sure the people around her aren’t able see how much she is falling apart inside. Even her parents are dependent on her, they ask her to make the hard choices, and keep saddening secrets. But everyone around her thinks she is full of herself, they don’t really see the pain that is inside.

North-South2Soon she meets John Thorton after a move to a new city with her family, and oh is she instantly attracted to him. He is tall, dark and handsome and oozes sex. However, Margaret and John seem to think they hate each other, and this only builds to the passion between them I think.

While John and Margaret think they share the same hatred, what they don’t know is, is that they BOTH can’t stop thinking about the other. Even through all of their supposed hatred, they have very steamy dreams about each other, and this only adds fuel to the fire. It was interesting to read about the way they acted towards each other after one of those dreams.

Margaret and John have many obstacles in their way, before they finally realize that what’s in front of them isn’t something they should be fighting. They have to overcome lies and what may feel like betrayal, but are they willing to look past all of that and give in to what they feel for each other?

North-South3You’re taken through a journey with Margaret while she struggles with her sexual maturity during the 19th century. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read the classics, even if they have some added spice. Brenna Chase does a great job of adding some passion without taking away from the book, and I was so glad I got a chance to read this classic brought back to life.
