Rebel Soul by LK Farlow Release Blitz with Review & Excerpt

Title: Rebel Soul
Author: LK Farlow
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Dramatic Comedy
Release Date: January 23, 2020
Blurb
West Larson comes from old money—the kind of wealth that comes with expectations steeped in archaic traditions. So, it’s not surprising when he learns the conditions of his trust fund: produce an heir before he turns twenty-five.

Enter Stacia Kellan. Her lowkey personality makes her the perfect baby mama…without the drama. And thanks to her wild-ass hair, colorful tattoos, and smart mouth, she’s exactly the kind of girl his parents would never approve of. Add in the fact that she’s a total smokeshow…knocking her up certainly wouldn’t be a hardship.

Stacia lives her life fast and loud. The idea of settling down isn’t on her radar. So, when her long-time friend asks her to have his baby, her immediate answer is a big, fat hell-to-the-no. Seriously, is he crazy?

West pulls out all the stops in wooing her and with every heated encounter, Stacia finds herself falling a little more for his charm and wit. Oh, and his forearms…yum.

Obligations. Lust. Friendship. Love.

The lines begin to blur as emotions enter the equation and besides, everyone knows you can’t deny your rebel soul.

Danielle’s Review

4 STARS

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Really liked this story!! Although this trope has been done many times before, the story didn’t feel stale or boring. This story gave me so many feels and made for a quick, easy read.
West has just learned that his a$$hole of a grandfather has put a clause in his will that in order for West to inherit the property his grandmother left behind for him, he must have a child before he turns 25. Although he isn’t required to also marry, he doesn’t have much time to find a suitable woman to agree to have his child that he doesn’t mind interacting with for the next 18 years. His best friend/attorney has agreed to help him with the process.
Stacia’s father has been arrested for a crime she knows he didn’t commit and her mom is nearing a nervous breakdown, leaving Stacia to figure out how to raise the money for her father’s bail and defense. Stacia needs a cheap place to stay so she can focus on saving money for her father and West offers her a place to live, after all they are friends and that’s what friends do.
After living together for a bit, West soon realizes that Stacia is the perfect woman for the role of baby mama. All he has to do is convince her of that as well. Will Stacia be able to refuse West when he is determined to get her to say yes?
I loved Stacia and West!! West is rich and sexy and has the sweetest side that will make any woman swoon. Stacia is a beautiful spitfire who’s not about to let anyone take advantage of her. The banter and chemistry between these two make this story great! If you like this kind of story, I would definitely recommend this one!
Excerpt
“Can I drive?” I ask, rubbing my hands together like an evil genius who just hatched a plan.
West appraises me for a moment before laughing. “That’d be a hell no.”
“Why?”
“This car’s got a lot of power.” He leans back against the passenger door smirking.
“Yup, sure does.”
“And you think you can handle it?”
Scoffing, I say, “I know I can.” One of the many things AJ and I bonded over when we became friends was our love of cars; while she prefers old, American muscle, I lust over supercars. Either way, she and I both like to go fast—really fucking fast. “Don’t tell me you’re one of those misogynistic assholes that think women can’t drive?”
“Not at all. I’m just territorial about my car.” A calculating glint shines in his blue eyes. “Give me one good reason I should let you behind the wheel of my baby.”
“I’ve wanted to drive one of these ever since it completed a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife track in just over seven minutes. You do realize you own the seventh fastest street legal vehicle, right?” I step into him, pressing my front to his, my hands roaming over the hard planes of his chest. “No lie, the thought of handling it gets my panties…”
I trail off and West gulps, sliding his arms around me, tugging me impossibly closer. “Gets your panties what?” His voice is rough and gritty, rubbing over my libido the same way a stubbled jaw would my skin.
Bring my ears to his lips, I whisper, “Wet. It gets them wet.”
“Fuck,” he groans, every bit of his longing plain for me to hear—and feel, judging by the bulge pressing into my belly. “She’s all yours.”
I step back from him, a smug, victorious smile plastered to my face. “I knew you’d come around.”
Thick & Thin (The Chubby Girl Chronicles) by Tabatha Vargo Release Blitz with Excerpt
Title: Thick & Thin
Series: The Chubby Girl Chronicles
Author: Tabatha Vargo
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release: January 21, 2020
Jenny Michaels
We promised to stay best friends through thick and thin, but that was before the kiss that changed it all. Before he went off to war and left me behind angry and bitter. Now he’s back, turning my world upside down, but I’m not the love-sick tomboy he left behind. And even though he always promised through thick and thin, something tells me I’m a little thicker than he had in mind.
Joshua Black
I made promises to Jenny, but I’m not the boy I was when I left for Afghanistan. I’m broken, scarred, and not nearly good enough to hold her heart. I tried to do the right thing and stay away, but my family needs me, which means I have to go home. Jenny hates me, and maybe that’s a good thing because I only want to do right by her. That means keeping my hands off her newly rounded curves. No matter how hard that might be.
JENNY MICHAELS
“Guess what they say is true,” he said, sliding up to the bar next to me.
I didn’t look his way, but I knew he was talking to me. “And what’s that?”
One minute he was sitting across the bar and staring back at me with a look in his eyes I couldn’t name, and the next he was at my side, the heat from his body burning me even though we weren’t touching.
I felt as though my chest was caving in. Part of me had wanted to see his face so badly it burned, but the other part of me, the new self-conscious part, didn’t want him to see me. I was fat. I had gained so much weight since we had last seen each other. My body and its hormones had lost their ever-loving minds and decided I would be much better suited for a size eighteen than my old size two.
“Sprints is basically full of trash these days.”
His hurtful words struck their intended target … my heart. And I sucked in an injured breath before turning his way. My eyes collided with his and all the warmth that had once lived in his gaze was gone. Instead, there was only cold anger staring back at me.
His face was harder, his eyes stern and his lips tight. He wasn’t thrilled to see me and honestly, I felt the same. The urge to leave was strong, but I was too prideful. Instead, I remained seated and lifted my beer for a casual drink. It was too late to turn and leave. My spine stiffened and I sat up straighter hoping to smooth my fat rolls. Sweat dotted my upper lip and quickly I swiped at it. I was nervous, although, I would have eaten nails before I admitted it.
He wanted to play the asshole. Fine. But I was an adult and I wasn’t about to respond to his bullshit. Instead, I turned away and lifted my beer for another sip as if his words had meant nothing.
“Did you hear me?” he pressed.
“Yep,” I said, popping the P.
What had I ever done to him? He was the one who had pushed me away. The one who had ended our friendship or whatever the hell it was.
He was different inside and out. Cold and callous. His body was leaner, and he was taller.
He moved closer, his familiar scent invading my space, and that, combined with the width of his shoulders, took my breath away. Josh was no longer a nineteen-year-old boy.
No.
He was a man.
All grown up and looking so delicious I wanted to lean in closer and taste him.
He grinned as if he knew what I was thinking before his face disappeared from my view so he could speak directly in my ear.
“You’ve really let yourself go, huh? I guess all those gummy bears finally caught up with you.”
Pain shot through my stomach so intense I felt the need to gag.
My weight. He was talking about my weight. Josh had never been so cruel to anyone. He never teased or bullied.
Who was this man?
“And you’re really an asshole, huh?” I countered.
His remarks were harsher than mine, but I was so shocked by his insult I couldn’t think of anything good enough to match his devastating words.
He pulled back and his grin didn’t reach his eyes. “The biggest.”
I let my eyes drift low until I was looking at the seat of his loose jeans. “Not really,” I said, referring to the size of his cock.
Men hated that shit, and if he was going straight for my weak spot, my weight, then I would do the same.
His grinned slowly disappeared and his eyes lowered, turning into angry slits. “Just because you’ve had an obscene amount of cock in your face, doesn’t mean you’re an expert. And I seem to remember you enjoying it just fine.”
Ouch.
Apparently, my reputation had proceeded.
Jenny Michaels. The town slut who went off to college and slept around.
A rebuttal burned my tongue, but I didn’t spill. Let him think what he wanted. It was none of his business. He had given up that right when he pushed me away.
“I was a nineteen-year-old virgin. What did I know? Anyway, I faked it.”
I hadn’t.
It had been beautiful, and it killed me to tarnish the moment that had gotten me through so many dark nights.
Again, he leaned closer, his hot breath rushing along the side of my cheek.
“Liar. You came so hard your eyes rolled back in your head. It dripped down my cock like a fucking waterfall.”
I opened my mouth to tell him to go fuck himself, but before I could, a woman I had never seen before came up beside him and poked him in the side.
“Hey, are you ready to go? This place is giving me a headache.”
 “Yeah.” He leaned back, pulled out his wallet, and tossed a bill onto the counter to tip the bartender. “See you around, Michaels.”
His use of my last name was impersonal and cold. I hated it.
“Yeah. Hopefully not, Black.”
And then he was gone, leaving me breathless and emotionally exhausted.
I hated him, but I hated myself even more because even though he had struck me in my weak spot and said some of the most hateful things a person had ever said to me, there was a soft spot in my broken heart that still loved Joshua Black.
JOSHUA BLACK
Jenny Michaels was no longer a small girl.
She had blossomed and filled in, in all the right places. Her body was thicker, her breasts larger, and she had curves that begged me to trail them with my tongue. Words ripe with cruelty spewed from my lips, hurting her the way she had hurt me three years ago, but my body was using a different set of words. Words like …
Ache.
Hard.
Wet.
Soft.
Fuck.
Forbidden words I should never have spoken.
Seven years ago, I confessed my darkest secret to my brother’s girlfriend. When she broke up with him and walked out of our lives, she took my secret with her.
Five months and she’ll be out of my life again.
Five months of ignoring lingering, heated glances.
The fire she draws out of me. The way she loves my daughter.
Exclusive Excerpt:
Her fingers rake through my hair, tugging until my eyes drag up to hers.
“I have a million reasons to leave, Jasper. A million. You push me past my every limit day in and day out. You hate me. Ignore me. Fight with me. Tease me. Tempt me. Make me feel alive and forgotten in the same breath. I have a million reasons to leave. I need one reason to stay. One reason that isn’t your little girl.”
I stare into her, my fingers brushing back the long strands of her hair from her face. I hold that reason on my tongue, tasting its sweetness as it burns me like venom. It’s a truth I can’t let go. One I’m not ready for her to have.
I’ll probably never be.
“He loves you. You love him. How’s that for a reason?”
She shakes her head at me, her frustration palpable. “Is that what you’re really thinking right now while I’m sitting on your lap in the dark? With all that we’ve done together this past week? That I love him?”
“It’s the only thing that matters between us.”
“You’re a liar.”
“Am I?” I question, tilting my head, Jules’s words pounding through my skull so loud I can hardly see, let alone think, past them. She loves him. Not you. Again, what reason would Jules have to lie to me about that? They’re best friends. Best friends who likely tell each other everything. Isn’t that what girls do?
“I don’t want to hurt like this when I look at you anymore. I’m tired of hating you while not being able to stop thinking about you.”
My lips descend into the base of her neck, directly over her pulse that thrums beneath me. My eyes close, and I inhale a silent breath. I’m tired of loving you while not being able to have you.
“You don’t hate me, Viola.”
“You’re right. I don’t hate you, Jasper. You’re the one who can’t make up his mind.”
“What is it you’re looking for from me?” I speak against her skin. “What is it you think I have to give you when you belong to him? You want me to stop hating you? Done. You want me to be nice? I can fucking try. You want me to fuck this thing out of us? I will. Tell me what you want, and I’ll give you anything. Because while you have a million reasons to go, and you’re looking for one to stay other than my daughter, she’s the only reason I can give you to stay when I have a million for you to go.”
Her breath hitches, her head falling back as my tongue swipes out, stealing a taste.
My hands drop from her hair, sliding along her narrow shoulders, over the top of her chest, down her ribs, my thumbs brushing the sides of her full tits through her shirt as I go. Her body trembles against mine as my hands grasp her waist, my nose gliding up the long column of her neck.
My body unable to hold back as I lick and suck and kiss her there.
Only there.
If I kiss her mouth, there will be no going back.
Someone should have warned me about falling in love with my best friend.
Carolina
Little did I know when Rex came to my locker attempting to bribe me, that he’d turn into my everything.
We’d become best friends. I’d steal his heart. He’d steal mine.
Nothing has changed in the years of our friendship.
Not our connection, not our feelings, or that we still hold each other’s hearts.
But his heart isn’t the only thing I’ve kept.
The secret I’m hiding could shatter the only man I’ve ever loved.
Rex
I’ve loved Carolina since the day she called my bluff.
Our friendship always came first.
She believed in me when no one else did.
I tucked away my feelings because I couldn’t survive a life without her.
We crossed the line once, and I swore it’d never happen again.
As time passes, the harder it becomes to live up to that promise.
Until finally, there’s no holding back.
“Grab your planner, sweetheart. Pencil me in to pick you up three Saturdays from now. Seven o’clock.”
“Okay,” she drags out. “What’s up with the preplanning?”
“Prom night. Let me know the color of your dress, so we can do all that matchy-matchy bullshit.”
“Excuse me?” She scowls in my direction. “You can’t just tell me I’m going to prom with you.” She throws her arms up, her voice turning all dramatic, like the boring romance movies she forces me to watch. “You didn’t even ask!”
“No need for me to ask. You’re going to prom with me.”
“What if I don’t want to go with you? You didn’t even give me a promposal!”
“Tough shit. You won’t find a better date. Not to mention, I’m the only guy in this school who won’t try to weasel his inexperienced dick into your virginal panties.” He raises his brows. “If you want a promposal, I’ll get one of those banners that fly in the sky or some shit.”
“You’re so romantic.” She crosses her arms, pouting her glossy pink lips. “Have you ever thought that I don’t want my panties to stay virginal? Maybe I want to change that on prom night.”
“Maybe you’ve lost your goddamn mind.” I clear my throat, and my voice grows deeper. “You’re my date. Your panties will remain untouched.” I jerk my thumb toward her planner in the backseat. “Put it in there, circle it with a red marker, and don’t forget.”
She huffs. “What about Leanne, the girl you’ve already asked to prom?”
Shit. I fucking forgot about Leanne. “She can either be your sister-date or kick rocks.”
“I am not having a sister-date,” she shrieks.
“Looks like she’ll be kicking rocks then. I’ll bribe her to go with someone else.”
Murphy is available.
“I can’t believe I speak to you.”
“You. Me. Prom.” I lean over and kiss her cheek before turning on the car. “My mom is making tacos tonight. You coming over for dinner?”
“Ugh, fine, but I’m only coming for her and the tacos.”
Excerpt
It was funny. I’d spent almost half my life surrounded by the biggest, baddest criminals the state of Georgia had been able to capture. Yet, I was terrified of a five-foot-five woman who for some asinine reason was still in love with me.
I couldn’t be around her. Not if I wanted to keep my head straight and my eye on the prize. I had three years before I got off parole. I needed to get a job, tuck away some cash, and, the second I was allowed to leave Georgia, get the hell out of there. Maybe, if I was lucky, I’d be able to convince my sister to come with me. We didn’t have to go far. We could stay in the south if she wanted. South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee—there were schools everywhere. Nora wouldn’t have trouble finding a job. The hardest part would be convincing her to leave Thea.
However, maybe if she did, Thea would finally move on with her life and stop obsessing about me.
I’d known they lived together for a while. I didn’t want anything to do with Thea while I was locked up, but I was happy as hell Nora had someone to lean on. I had been under the impression that Nora had gotten her own place when she found out about my release. I had been under that impression because Nora had straight-up told me she was getting her own place after I’d declared there was no way I was living with Thea.
Now, I was hiding in my room, waiting for Nora to wake up, open my door, and escort me to breakfast like a damn bodyguard so I could avoid confrontation.
Next up in my efforts to kill time was a workout. Sit ups, push-ups, planks, running in place. This was when I realized Nora hadn’t bought me any deodorant.
Another shower.
Another naked lap around the bedroom, and this time, I managed to keep my hands off my cock.
Finally, I got dressed. This required me to pick through a bunch of preppy shit Nora had bought for me to find tattered jeans and a fitted green tee that clung to my chest like a damn glove. In my closet, I found a belt and a pair of distressed brown lace-up boots that maybe could have doubled as combat boots if the war was taking place on a runway. But what the hell did I know about style? I’d been wearing orange or puke beige for almost half my life.
When I was done with all of that and there was still no sign of Nora, I sat on the edge of the bed and decided to give the phone thing a try. I wasn’t totally out of the technology loop. We had computers at the library and we were allowed to use them if we earned the privileges. But they might as well have been dinosaurs compared to the phone she’d bought me. I couldn’t even get it to read my face with the fancy secret laser thing. I gave up trying pretty quickly.
So there I was, bored out of my mind, starving, and poking at my newfound wrinkles in the bathroom mirror, when I heard a knock at my door.
“Ramsey?”
I froze, my eyes locked on the mirror, panic staring back at me.
Thea.
Jesus. I needed to find somewhere else to live.
Leaning out of the bathroom, I stared at the door. If I was super quiet, maybe she’d think I was still asleep and go the hell away.
When I didn’t reply, she knocked again. Her voice was timid and sweet, not at all like the fearless girl I’d grown up with. I hated it.
“Ramsey? You hungry? I’m making breakfast? I was wondering if you wanted something?” Everything from my name to the fact that she was making breakfast was a question, as if maybe she was asking permission to cook in her own house.
My stomach was currently feasting on my backbone. Still, I said nothing.
She sighed. “Okay. Well, if you change your—” There were several seconds of silence.
I quirked my eyebrow at the door, trying to figure out why she’d abruptly stopped talking, and then cursed my inability to develop x-ray vision.
I held my breath, hoping to hear her footsteps as she walked away.
No. Such. Fucking. Luck.
The door swung open and she came walking inside with her hands stacked over her eyes. “Look, I know you’re awake. I heard you running earlier. I also heard you take at least three showers. Sorry, but the house isn’t that big. Neither is the hot water heater. Are you at least dressed so I can open my eyes?”
Brave. Unapologetic. And completely oblivious to boundaries. Now that was the Thea I knew.
“Get out,” I barked.
“Dressed? Not dressed? Help me out here?”
“Get. Out.”
She kept her eyes closed. “You gotta eat, Ramsey. You can’t stay locked up in this room forever.”
I wanted to tell her to get the hell out again. Honestly, it was on the tip of my tongue. But it never made it past my lips because my traitorous eyes stole a head-to-toe of her lithe body. She was barefoot, wearing jeans—tight ones that tapered at her ankle. They looked like mine in the sense that they had a rip in the knee. They didn’t look like mine in the sense that they hugged the curve of her hips and more than likely her ass too. A pink tank top stretched across her chest, and I swear on my life, fuck x-ray vision because I could see the pebble of her nipples beneath the fabric.
It wasn’t a ridiculous dress.
It wasn’t stupid fucking heels.
She wasn’t wearing a face full of clown makeup.
She was just Thea.
The nostalgia pumped through my veins like acid even as my cock stirred. Fuck, I should have jerked off again in the shower.
“I’m dressed,” I bit out, desperate for her to put her damn hands down and maybe use them to cover her tits instead.
Her long, brown lashes fluttered as she opened her eyes. Those fucking eyes had once owned me. As a huge smile lit her face, I felt the claim all over again.
“Oh, look, you chose one of the outfits I picked out for you.”
Of course I had. Of fucking course. As soon as I got her out of my room, I was going to take the outfit off and light it on fire.
~~~Excerpt~~~

I watched her with my entire heart in my throat. I have never been so proud of anyone, ever, in my whole life.

The whole room just witnessed the sweeping tower of her beauty and courage. Then, they saw the way her expression changed from pride to exultant relief….like a dead man stumbling on a cure when her eyes landed on me.

Not everyone gets the kind of love I saw in her eyes. I feel like the luckiest man alive right now because she’s back in my arms.

We’re the magnetic halves of one whole – drawn together, locking into place, and then holding on for dear life through the seismic shift of our world righting itself.

I breathe in her sweet, familiar scent. There’s a new depth to it, less flower, more earth, but the essence of it is unchanged.

“Carter, oh my God, Carter,” she repeats over and over. Her arms are wrapped tight around me like I’m her lifeline.

Holding her again, there’s no doubt that she’s mine.

My heart is beating normally for the first time in almost two years. My lungs inflate fully for the first time in that long, too.

Her nose is pressed to my neck and her lips move against the base of my throat. My body reacts to her nearness, to the press of her curves, her breasts, her thighs, the way her hair smells. So, I put her down. When I look at her face and see that smile, I want so badly to hold her again, my erection be damned.

A throat clears behind us and I turn sharply back to my table. Nadia’s staring at us with wide, wet eyes.

Next to me, the throat clears again and this time, I follow the sound. Standing to my left is the man I’d seen her with earlier. The one who’d wrapped his arms around her earlier, is looking at me like if there was a baseball bat in reach, he’d use it to put some distance between me and Beth.

She turns and wraps her arms around his neck hugs him fiercely.

He hugs her back, but his eyes are stony on me.

Who is the cradle robbing asshole?

She pulls out of his embrace and smiles up at him. “Joe, I can’t believe I did it.”

His expression softens the minute he looks down at her, his eyes shine with adoration.

“I can. You did a great job,” he says and taps the end of her nose with the tip of his finger. She preens and gives him a mock curtsey.

“You gonna introduce me, Beth?” he asks, nodding over her shoulder at me.

Her spine straightens and she nods. Then, she turns back to me, that smile back o her face.

“Carter this is Joe…my neighbor and my friend.” She squeezes his hand and they smile at each other.

“I’m her surrogate father,” he corrects in a deep unequivocal voice, a glint of protective pride in his eyes. He shifts his weight and for the first time, I realize he’s leaning on a cane.

“Joe, this is Carter. My….” Her lips purse as she stops to choose her words, but and her eyes are bright with jubilant joy as they scan my face as if the answers to the universe’s mysteries can be found there. “He’s….my best everything. Ever,” she says with a happy, matchlessly beautiful smile.

My heart does that thing…that stumble, trip, and fall that has always been its response to being near her.

It doesn’t care that she’s my…whatever. It only knows that for me, she is love.

Nothing But Wild by P. Dangelico Release Blitz

NBW - RB banner.jpg

Nothing But Wild, an all new standalone Contemporary Romance by P. Dangelico, is LIVE!

Cover.jpg

Dallas Van Zant.

Water polo god.

Shameless flirt.

Beautiful disaster in the most literal sense of that label.

Trust me, it’s not hyperbole. He’s in big trouble with the law.

What does this have to do with me, you ask? Unfortunately, a lot. For some reason, which I still can’t quite wrap my brain around, I’ve been talked into driving him around as part of his plea deal.

Problem is, he makes me nervous. I’m not good with people, men in particular, popular athletes especially. I’ve worked really hard to get my disability under control and one minute in his company and all my hard work flies out the window.

To top it all off, I promised myself that I was going to make some serious changes this year. I’m tired of feeling awkward around boys. I’m tired of never having had a boyfriend. I’m tired of being lonely. And he’s wrecking my plans.

But I’m also not the type to turn away a person in need. So I’ll do what I must to help him out.

I’ll just pretend that I’m not enjoying his company. And I’ll ignore the fact that he’s sweet and funny. And I’ll tell myself every day that he’s out of my league.

Because I’m as inexperienced as they come. And Dallas Van Zant is nothing but wild.

About P. Dangelico:

Dangelico loves romance in all forms, cuddly creatures (four legged and two), really bloody sexy pulp, the NY Jets (although she’s reconsidering after this season), and to while away the day at the barn (apparently she does her best thinking shoveling horse crap). What she’s not enamored with is referring to herself in the third person and social media so don’t expect her to get on Twitter anytime soon. Oh, and although she was born in Italy, she’s been Jersey Strong since she turned six.
